Neuron's recent value management review for a project in Sydney's CBD led to a value uplift of approximately $6 million while reducing the number of basement levels by 1.5, all while maintaining the same number of car parking spaces. Focused on optimising structure and services, our approach involved several strategic changes. These included relocating the equipment to areas with lower sellable value, structural enhancements to the building core, and a car park redesign to accommodate more vehicles on upper levels. This redesign effectively eliminated the need for additional underground parking levels. Repurpose your housing ecosystem with a strategy built on equitable financing, affordability by design and income inclusivity
A convergence is underway that could blow wide open the promise of missing middle housing for communities nationwide. Even more exciting is that it is beginning in Indiana! We can turn the tide on housing undersupply and the enabling transformations in technology and policy are already in motion. When factory built housing innovation from Indiana's Herrick Laboratories and the Center for High Performance Buildings at Purdue meets local community zoning and land use policy updates in places like City of South Bend, City of Bloomington, IN, City of Indianapolis - Department of Metropolitan Development or the Indiana Uplands, we will be positioned to win the next quarter century of competition for people and prosperity.

Imagine trying to replace a bridge that hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers regularly rely on to enter Manhattan. Not easy at all. So, how do you deliver on a project that impacts so many stakeholders? New York State DOT tried something different and used digital twin processes, which helped the team share project plans with over 180 reviewers across 15 agencies and address public concerns, which would not have been possible with conventional methods. I vividly recall a moment from the early to mid-80s when a computer salesman pitched the idea of computers replacing paper to my dad. Despite the promise, the transition was slow and cumbersome. This caused my father to dismiss it, and that mindset passed on to me for many years. Fast forward forty years, and that experience still influences my business decisions today. That Ephinay happened for me as I stood on a 400-unit multifamily job and watched a CNC saw overheat in a container. No one considered the Florida heat and humidity. I almost gave up. Then I remembered hearing my dad say, "my team could have done that with paper in five minutes". As a Framer, I believe our industry stands at a pivotal point regarding technology adoption. While we excel in traditional methods, embracing technology is essential for future growth. Currently, our craftsmanship outperforms robots in almost every task, yet challenges persist when technology faces unforeseen obstacles. Embracing research and development has been a game-changer for us. We now lead in testing new ideas and approaches, preparing us for the future landscape of construction. Looking ahead, I envision CTK Framing at the forefront of innovation in large-scale Multifamily housing projects. Our mindset has shifted towards fearlessly exploring new technological advancements. With this approach, I am excited to see where we will be in the next forty years. It's a journey of evolution and adaptation, and we are ready to lead the way. #ConstructionIndustry #Innovation #TechnologyAdoption #FutureOfConstruction #CTKFraming

At Fast + Epp, our core purpose is to advance structural design and propel architectural imagination. Two years ago, we launched Concept Lab to continue our legacy of innovation and provide a physical space for our staff and colleagues to brainstorm, develop, test, and prototype their ideas. A key focus of Concept Lab is to develop new products to help solve the most persistent challenges encountered during design and construction. We are excited to announce that next week at the International Mass Timber Conference in Portland, we will be unveiling a new product which we believe will be a game changer for mass timber construction. Stop by booth #925 and Brandon Sullivan, Concept Lab Manager, will be happy to chat about what we’ve been working on. #structuralengineering #masstimber #masstimberdesign #researchanddevelopment #testing
