As a final contribution to AdForum’s DE&I conversation, Lobo.cx Managing Partner Luis Ribeiro chimed in to express his opinions on the matter. “The DE&I conversation may have slowed due to waning enthusiasm, the complexities of lasting change, and external factors like economic and political pressures. To keep progress going, we need sustained leadership commitment, continuous education, and training, and to set measurable goals with accountability. Creating open dialogue and safe spaces for discussions, along with celebrating milestones and successes, will also help. By maintaining a proactive and persistent approach, we can ensure DE&I efforts continue to advance and create meaningful change.” Check out Luis’ thoughts, and other industry leaders in the full story from India Fizer here: https://bit.ly/3VVYv9c

Certified Professional Coach ACC, Director, Business Consultant, Author, Freelance Writer, Editor At Large at Thrive Global
My work as a coach is definitely behind the scenes. I don’t often get to share how much I love the work I get to do and the amazing people I get to work with. What makes it better, is getting to be a coach at a company like BetterUp They truly value human potential, and believe we can build resilience and mindset shifts to live with greater purpose, clarity and passion. That’s something I stand behind 💯. #changeispossible #mindsetshift #coaching #resilience
We’re grateful to BetterUp’s Chief Impact Officer Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, for hosting a panel discussion with Dr. Brendan Nelson, President of Boeing Global, and Mickaela Richards, Grants & Programmes Director, The Invictus Games Foundation in Dusseldorf, Germany. It was a thoughtful and inspiring discussion focused on building resilience to tap into individual and organizational potential, especially in the face of challenges. It takes a shift in mindset and a reminder of why we do what we do to thrive, both personally and professionally. As we learned from our panelists, when we open our apertures and change how we think, that’s when we operate at our best 💫

My first event with BetterUp and what a way to start! An authentic and truly inspiring panel with BetterUp Chief Impact Officer Prince Harry and Invictus Games superstar Mickaela Richards, as well as a thought-provoking fireside chat between BetterUp co-founder Alexi Robichaux and the brilliant Prof. Dr. Judith Mangelsdorf. I learnt so much, here’s three things I’ve been mulling over on my flight home... 1. When we talk about work-life balance, do we automatically assume work = bad, life = good? Actually, is the most important thing to make work fulfilling and meaningful, so we are able to enjoy every moment, whichever mode we’re in? Data would suggest so - for people and for businesses. 2. Across the 35 studies in Transformational Leadership, it’s been found that the easiest way to improve someone’s sense of meaning is; your boss telling you that they want you to find your work meaningful. Crazy that it can really be that simple!? One to take away if you’re a manager - the data is compelling (although I’m sure authenticity is essential). 3. Human’s are hardwired to be pessimistic and fear change - it’s part of our evolution. However, through the work by the likes of Dr. Martin Seligman and those studying positive phycology, we know that optimism has been proven to be the single biggest mindset for impacting human flourishing… and it can be coached! Exercising this muscle makes us more adaptive, more resilient, happier and more productive - another win win for humans and businesses alike.

TLDR: Help me get to SXSW by voting on Panel Picker before 11:59pm on 8/20. Thank you to everyone who already voted! I so appreciate you taking the time to help me to get one step closer to presenting at SXSW 2024 in Austin! If you haven't voted yet and would like to help: ✔ Click on this link: https://lnkd.in/eXFPWW_g ✔ Create an account (it takes 2 minutes and makes it so that one person can't vote multiple times for the same proposal.) ✔ Click on the "up" arrow to vote "yes" for "How to Build a Super Team by 'Making Each Other Look Good.'" ✔ Comment below, "voted!" or whatever you'd like to comment with 😁 This community vote counts for 30% of the decision making process, so I need your help to make it through this next phase! Presenting at SXSW will put me in front of leaders, innovators and decisions makers who can bring these concepts back to their teams and organizations, helping to create cultures of empathy, creativity and trust, beginning with how we communicate and connect with one another. SXSW is an annual conference that celebrates the convergence of tech, film, music, education and culture. "SXSW proves that the most unexpected discoveries happen when diverse topics and people come together." #sxsw #communication #communicationskills #leadership #culture #teamwork #leadershipskills #sxsw2024
