A new platform has entered the chat: Bluesky is now available in Buffer! This means: 1. You can create, plan, and schedule your Bluesky posts in advance with links, images, and hashtags and also schedule threaded posts (something you’re not even able to do natively on Bluesky just yet) 2. You’ll have analytics for your posts: View your likes, comments, and reposts Start growing your community on decentralized social media: https://buffer.com/bluesky

We’ve noticed that networks like Bluesky, Mastodon, and Threads have been great places to find niche communities or even start and grow your own niche community. If you’re on any decentralized social networks, what communities have you found? Do you feel a stronger connection to those communities compared to ones on traditional platforms?

As a fully remote team, communication is very important. We have some “Bufferisms” that are a core part of our communication as a team. Here’s a glimpse into some fun Buffer phrases that we use regularly: Bufferoo A person who works at Buffer :) Ceiling cat One of the most handy memes for us is ceiling cat; perfect for use when you’re keen to speak up about a conversation not necessarily directed at you :) Tacos We “give tacos” with a tool called HeyTaco on Slack as a way to show gratitude, say thank you, and recognize everything from small wins to huge accomplishments. Every teammate has 5 tacos to give out per day. Snow melt meetings AKA snowmelts: 1:1 or 1:several meetings in which Founder CEO Joel speaks with teammates other than his direct reports and close collaborators in order to stay informed, give advice, and connect with teammates. The name is based on the idea that “snow melts at the edges of the pile,” meaning that’s where the most action is happening. TWST Team Wide Support Time: A monthly opportunity for the entire team to collaborate with Advocacy in our support inbox to get closer to our customers. Bufferversary The anniversary of a Buffer teammate’s start date at the company

Our Marketing and Design teams would like your help with some changes we’re planning to make to the Buffer brand! We’d love to know how some colors make you feel, and what you associate with them. No need for long elaborate answers here, we're mostly interested in your initial reactions. When you think of the color green, what 3 words come to mind? When you think of the color purple, what 3 words come to mind? Let us know your answers in the comments or feel free to fill out our Google survey (link in the comments)! Thanks for taking the time to share with us — we can’t wait to show you everything we’re working on. 😄

Senior Content Writer Kirsti Lang challenged herself to post on TikTok every single day for 30 days to see if it would help her grow her account. Spoiler alert: It worked. 30 days. 34 posts. 1 Live. 1 embarrassing dance. 3 copycat scammer accounts. 1 marriage proposal. 385K views. And 1,194 followers gained (she started with 70 followers). Here are the top lessons she learned from her 30 day experiment: -Find a niche (or a handful of related niches) to focus on -Watch time has a big impact, so make sure you have a strong hook -Trends and popular audio can have an impact, but they’re not a magic bullet -Spend more time on creating and scripting, and less time on editing No gatekeeping here — here’s exactly how Kirsti did her 30 day TikTok experiment. In this article, she shares all of her learnings: the tactics that got results, those that didn’t, and a couple of nifty tips and tricks she learned along the way: https://lnkd.in/gWmKRYJp

Now that we’ve added Bluesky scheduling, that means you can crosspost for multiple decentralized social networks all from one place: Bluesky, Mastodon, and Threads. Why are we focusing on decentralized networks? As a business, we feel philosophically aligned with these networks because they’ve been started with a belief that individuals should maintain ownership over their content and the connection to their audience. When you use these networks, you are much more likely to be able to maintain control over your content and audience than if you use social networks owned by large corporations. We're here to see decentralized social media grow and become more meaningful for more people across the world. We’ll be doing everything we can to support the growth of new decentralized social media options, because we believe that individuals and small businesses should maintain control over their content and the connection to their audience.
