Chief Secure Technology Officer (CSO for Enterprise & Product Security and CTO for Product & Platform Engineering)

Before I moved to a large bank that had the unfortunate effect of muzzling me by prohibiting me from writing or presenting, I blogged for the better part of a decade. It was an amazing vehicle for ideation, self expression and learning. One of my favorite things about that era of the Security Industry was that I could just email or DM a CEO or CTO and ask if I could send them 5 questions they would answer. All of them said yes. Here’s a few goodies: Chris Wysopal - https://lnkd.in/dNtBMmuD Marcus Ranum - https://lnkd.in/d97BKA2e Jeremiah Grossman - https://lnkd.in/dZxAwcrF Shlomo Kramer - https://lnkd.in/dPFExEZu Allwyn Sequeira - https://lnkd.in/dsA9UHmx Andrew Jaquith - https://lnkd.in/dUGAsYHK Nir Z. I miss those days when you were actively blogging

Oh man, I felt this one. I worked for banks for 20 years and the idea of being able to post and blog was absolutely not okay. I joined Microsoft 3 years ago and not only was it okay, they wanted me to do it. In fact, my organization has its own social media person who generates content for us to take and modify if we want to! Mind. Blown. I have really been taking advantage of it the last year and it's made me a better professional, increased my network, and given me lots of stuff to chat about with my customers. I can't imagine ever going back to that. Here's to us both being muzzle-free! 🥂

I ran into the muzzle at my last company who demanded all my Linked in posts had to be run by them first. The joy of being an at will employee. 🤬

I'll just leave this here. Not exactly canon - but close enough I think. Even though you may not be posting, we still think of you at the drivethru...

Wow. I read all of them, and they are all great. You asked great questions, all uniquely tailored. Shlomo’s interview has weathered really well. Nir talked his own book, same then as now, but his was absolutely the right product at the right time. And Marcus was Marcus in the very best way. Really a treat to go back in time. Made my evening.
