The 50th anniversary of ABBA's Eurovision victory with "Waterloo" marks the beginning of an eventful music year in Stockholm! On April 6th, we celebrate ABBA with a Sing-a-long in Kungsträdgården.
The music year continues in the spring with Stockholm's Culture Night and a series of concerts throughout the year featuring international superstars such as Taylor Swift, P!nk, and Bruce Springsteen.
For Taylor Swift's three concerts in May alone, visitors from approximately 140 different countries are expected, together estimated to spend half a billion kronor locally.
Once again, Stockholm proves why top artists choose to perform here, boasting world-leading producers and a music scene that has made Sweden the largest per capita exporter of pop music globally, and the third-largest overall, behind only Great Britain and the USA. In 2022, revenues from Swedish music exports contributed 2.3 billion kronor, according to Musiksverige.
Stockholm continues to establish itself as a music hub, as evidenced by Seedtable's recent listing of music and audio start-ups to watch and work for in 2024. Thirteen of these startups were based in Stockholm, more than any other city relative to its population size.
