EVIDENCE for OPTIMISM yes; even if it's realization is years away; the planning and feasibility study of the possibility is great news that will get noticed. as a former cold skeptic;i have been warming up to passenger train viability... although is this rout primarily "scenic"? how did i warm up to passenger train viability? well a few conversations with experts like Ken Prendergast and seeing examples of success by a company called Brightline in florida and california have proven to me that a revenue positive business model is possible. were my skeptism remains is that it's possible for private operator to achieve this yet not possible for government bureaucrats to achieve! to remain profitable a private operation must eliminate; waste, fraud and abuse; yet government bureaurcrats have never been able to slow down; waste,fraud or abuse! developing authentic Public/Private Partnerships might be the solution? onward OPTIMISTS,keep your eyes open and vision clear ahead!the world has noticed Cleveland and we'll SEE MOREin24! #siteselection #passengertransport #optimism #clevelandrealestate

Flying this route out of #London is a great opportunity to study the very first part of our route for GB Row Challenge: the #RiverThames and #ThamesEstuary! 🕙 Setting off from Tower Bridge at the top of the tide, we'll have six hours to get as far as we can on the evening of 9th June before the tide turns against us, probably somewhere around Tilbury after we pass under the #M25 at the QE2 Bridge. As it'll be #springtides, and the adverse tide will run faster than we can row, we'll probably need to find a spot at the edge of the river to #anchor up ⚓️ for a few hours around here. While most the focus is on challenges we'll face at #sea, just *getting there* carries significant risks - especially when you're facing backwards. There are jetties and pontoons that stick out into the river, huge metal mooring #buoys, lots of traffic that graduates fast from city boats and river taxis to #containerships coming in and out of Tilbury or London Gateway ports. History of the San Marino: Built by Pullman in 1916 for Mr. Henry E. Huntington as his private car. Mr. Huntington (1850-1927) was an important person in California history. He was the favorite nephew of Collis P. Huntington, the co-founder and driving force of the Central Pacific and Southern Pacific and the first transcontinental railroad of 1869. Henry Huntington created a rail empire of his own, the Pacific Electric in Southern California, which has done more to layout the urban geography of the Los Angeles basin than anything else. He named his car after his estate outside Los Angeles called the San Marino, now the famed Huntington Library and Art Museum. After his death in 1927, Southern Pacific bought the car and named it after their famous and beautiful hotel on the Monterey Peninsula called Del Monte. The Del Monte business car #107 was arguably the best heavyweight car in the vast SP business car fleet. In 1956, it was only one of two cars (#140 Stanford was the other) to get brand new outside swing hangers, roller bearing, disc brake trucks specifically designed for these cars. The original dining, observation room and passageway were all done in Circassian Walnut from Turkey. The current owners, Rob and Rita Menzies, are also the owners of Aberdeen Carolina & Western Railway in North Carolina where the railcar finished a complete historical restoration and redecoration in their shop. What do you think about a Cal-Neva High-Speed Rail Conference at the Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks, Nevada? The Conference would focus on High-Speed Rail developments in California and Nevada with special emphasis on Brightline West (Los Angeles to Las Vegas) and California (San Francisco to Los Angeles). It would also be interesting to have a discussion on the feasibility of connecting Reno and Las Vegas via High-Speed Rail. The distance is around 460 miles, and I had to pleasure of driving it once. It's primarily two lane roads. It's comparable to the distance between Sacramento and San Clemente California, but it's by no means a journey on Interstate Freeways. There is the Interstate 11 planned between Las Vegas and Fallon, intersecting Interstate 80 just north of Fallon.
