People are always chasing after employee engagement Working with so many Fortune 500 Companies I have found that Three things are fundamental and non-negotiable: 1. People ALWAYS need to feel appreciated and treated with respect. 2. People love to belong to a winning team. 3. It NEEDS to be diverse. Homogeneity kills ideas. Everyone should have their voices heard According to a study by Korn/Ferry Leadership and Talent Consulting, approximately 96% of executives believe that diversity in the workforce increases employee engagement and overall company achievement. Organizations should strive to diversify their workforce to enhance employee engagement. If your organization is looking to build a diverse workforce, get in touch with Qween Network LLP. #asksumit #diversityandinclusion #diversity #leadershiplessons #jobs

Talk about a disconnect! A report earlier this month from Right Management, a talent and career management firm, found leaders from across a variety of industries in Canada and the US, tend to overestimate employee engagement. In the survey, 83% of leaders responded said they believe their workforce is fully engaged, but only 48% of employees in the same survey said they would categorize themselves as fully engaged. Hmm....that's quite a gap. Why am I so surprised? Because many organizations conduct annual or bi-annual surveys to gauge employee engagement as one of several (sometimes) mechanisms for gathering employee feedback. So if employees are sharing what's on their minds, why isn't leadership responding? #employeengagement #leadershipdevelopment #organizationalculture

Why are we a great place to work? If you ask our team, they're likely to mention that it’s because our values and purpose are connected to everything we do, or that we genuinely value and celebrate diversity and inclusion. They’re just two elements of our employee engagement strategy that Chief People Officer Tracey Lake says connects our team in authentic ways. "Over four years we've refined and evolved our strategy to really articulate our purpose and values, including what our showup behaviours look like, defined our clever ways of working and of course put a spotlight on how we have fun in the work that we do,” she says. “We looked at what we can do differently to connect and inspire our people and now we're proud to be achieving global employee engagement standards; making it into the 84th percentile of Australian workplaces, as measured by Gallup.” Interested to know more? Fractional COO Driving Growth for Purpose Driven Organizations | Global Operations Leader | Business Consultant | Board Member
📊 Gallup's State of the Global Workplace: 2024 Report highlights a serious issue: Nearly 80% of employees worldwide are not engaged or are actively disengaged at work, despite increased efforts from companies. The main reason for the failure of workplace engagement programs? Employee engagement is often viewed as "an HR thing." According to Gallup: "Employee engagement is not owned by leaders, expected of managers, nor understood by front-line employees." I often speak to CEOs who are focused solely on profits, I often remind them that true profitability is limited without investing in their people. Low employee engagement impacts the operations of an organization by reducing: - Productivity - Retention - Innovation To achieve well-rounded success, your strategic operations framework must incorporate employee engagement as a priority. --- Hi, I'm Shanté Smith-Daniels, MBA 👋🏾 I provide fractional operational leadership to purpose driven organizations, helping them scale and grow.
