I Help Professionals and Business Owners Thrive in Uncertain Times with Joy and Engagement | Mentor | Investor | Coach
“Can you say no to work and still make a living?” Absolutely, I tried this once. I said “no” to work and waited for the money to roll in. Strangely, my mailbox stayed empty and my couch offered no financial advice. Things really changed when I started saying 'yes' to what made sense to me and 'no' to what didn’t. I used to believe that I couldn't afford to lose my financial stability and the "quality of life" it brought. However, my job was draining me to the extent that I couldn't even imagine doing anything else, let alone turning it into something profitable. This led me to a state of languishing for longer than I'd like to admit. Over time, I realized I didn't need as much as I thought. I had accumulated considerable financial resources, which compensated for the job that no longer held meaning for me. Drawing up a financial plan was crucial. But once I took control of my direction and actions, I saw that my basic needs were quite simple, and I felt more alive overall. It all started with figuring out what I really wanted for myself and identifying the problems around me. From there, I focused on which ones were worth solving and took action. The "quality of life" you see today might be limiting the quality of life you could actually have. And regarding the initial question I posed: Start by saying yes to things that bring you meaning. This will lead to saying no to things you don’t cherish. Financial freedom is about doing fewer things you dislike. It's a journey towards better self-understanding and taking intentional action. Helping SMEs Get Financial Insight To Grow Profitability and Thrive. Flexible, Cost-Effective Solution. Portfolio Finance Director | Part-Time CFO | Consultant | Group Courses for Aspiring Portfolio FDs
My body broke itself to get me out of the corporate world 🤢 I was working in a very senior finance role for a huge brand, supposedly at the top of my game. But my body thought otherwise ❌ Because here’s the thing... The corporate world squishes you. It takes from you, and makes it so that work is all you live and breathe. If you don’t listen to how you’re feeling, your body will eventually make sure you hear it. Don’t let it go that far for you. If you’re a senior finance pro reading this and feeling miserable about your situation, know you do have options! 🌞 You don’t need to stay doing what you’re doing 🌞 You can get out 🌞 You can live another, better, happier way You might be looking at part-time roles because you want work-life balance. You might be researching which companies or industries offer better work-life balance and wellbeing policies. These are all good things ✔️ But let me tell you… ... in my humble opinion, THE BEST route for anyone who wants 100% out of the corporate game is to set-up your own portfolio client business. That’s what I’ve done and I LOVE IT SO MUCH 🧡 I have energy, drive, purpose and wake up every morning looking forward to my day. 🌸 My health has recovered. 🌸 My relationships with family and friends are stronger, deeper. 🌸 And I make more money than I was making in corporate. Yep, being self-employed can bring financial security. 👉 Drop me a message if you’d like any advice on what your next steps could be. I promise, there's a happier future for you if you want it (and are prepared to work hard for it). ===== #FinanceDirector #CFOcommunity #CFOforum #CFOlife #CFOdevelopment #VirtualCFO

Leading a top-tier mental wellness app for professionals. Clinically effective CBT for transformative results. Enhance well-being, boost performance. Creating healthier, more productive work environments💡🌟
💰Increase your income, reduce your expenditures - It's the golden rule of financial management. But when it comes to time—the one resource we all share equally—why does it seem like we're missing the manual? Let's borrow a page from finances and apply it to time??? 🕰️ Goal 1: Reclaim Time 🕰️ In an ideal world, we have a full 24 hours at our disposal, right? Well, reality often has other plans. Sneaky "time thieves" lurk in the shadows, robbing us of precious moments with distractions, procrastination, and unexpected obligations. 💡 Imagine this: In financial world it is spending on unwanted purchases. In life, your leisurely scroll through social media turns into a time vacuum, devouring hours that could have been spent on your passions or with loved ones. 🕰️ Goal 2: Save Time 🕰️ Just as you budget your hard-earned money, you should budget your priceless time. Squandering hours on trivial tasks means less time for what truly matters. 💡 Consider this: Overspending on unnecessary items drains your financial resources. Similarly, wasting time on unimportant tasks depletes your most valuable resource—time. 🕰️ Goal 3: Make Time 🕰️ Think of making time as investing in your future. Just as you invest money for returns, invest your time in activities that lead to growth and personal betterment. 💡 Picture this: Setting aside an hour each day to learn a new technology or refine your skills isn't just an expense of time; it's an investment in your future self. So, are you ready to unlock the secrets of time management and embrace a more fulfilling life? 🌟 #TimeManagement #Productivity #LifeHacks #TimeFlowSystem #MakeTime #SaveTime #ReclaimTime

If it’s not making me happy or making me money or making me better . Then I am busy. This bold statement struck a chord, a reflection on how I spend my time, energy, and resources. It’s not just about decluttering the physical space around me but also about streamlining my life to focus on what truly matters. 1. Making Me Happy It's essential to prioritize activities, relationships, and work that bring joy and satisfaction. This doesn't mean shunning responsibilities but rather finding happiness in what we do or changing the narrative until we do. Once,I avoided cooking and cleaning at all costs. Now, the sheer joy of seeing my family enjoy my kitchen experiments (even the flops!) and appreciating a tidy home has transformed these chores into sources of happiness. 2.Making Me Money Financial stability and growth are vital. In more than half of my career, I never worried about money. My focus was purely on delivering value, often without considering if my compensation reflected my contribution. However, a pivotal realization dawned upon me: I am delivering and capable of more than what I earn. This insight led to a mantra that not only should I strive to deliver more but also ensure that my financial rewards match my contributions. It's not just about earning more but about recognizing one’s worth and seeking opportunities that reflect that worth. 3.Making Me Better Personal and professional development is a never-ending journey. A reminder to engage in activities that enhance my skills, knowledge, and well-being. Between social media and book which one will make me better , a tough choice I have to make each day. 4.Then I Am Busy Time is our most valuable asset. Saying "I am busy" to distractions means safeguarding our time for what genuinely contributes to our happiness, financial well-being, and personal growth. Show commitment to being intentional with time and energy. #lifelessons #personaldevelopment

We are often conditioned to expect immediate rewards — recognition, monetary gain, or praise. Especially as adults, the pressure to focus solely on endeavors with tangible returns can make investing time in passion projects, community building, or volunteer work challenging. As I've matured, I've learned to appreciate those who engage without expecting immediate financial reward or recognition. Engaging in activities that don't bring immediate financial gains can pave the way for long-term personal and professional well-being. Here's why: #PersonalGrowth: learning new skills, living out passions, and overcoming challenges contribute significantly to personal development, shaping character, and enriching lives beyond financial success. #Meaningfulness: Activities that align with personal values and passions provide deep fulfillment and meaningfulness — rewards that are as important, if not more important, than external validation or financial gain. #BuildRelationships: Investing time in genuine relationships and a robust network pays off in the long run, often leading to opportunities, collaborations, and a support system that goes beyond the immediate financial benefits. #LearningAdaptability: Participating in various activities fosters an attitude of constant learning and adaptability, which is invaluable for navigating the ever-changing landscape of life. #Wellbeing: Mental, emotional, and physical well-being is crucial. Activities promoting a healthy lifestyle may bring little financial benefits but contribute significantly to overall life satisfaction. While financial considerations are important, they are not the #soleDeterminant of the value of an activity. A balance between immediate needs and long-term personal and professional goals leads to a #moreHolistic and fulfilling life. Let's celebrate the journey beyond immediate reward and #instantGratification! 🚀 #Reflection #PersonalGrowth #PurposefulLiving

Performance Coaching To Feel And Work At Your Best | Ex-Investment Banking & Private Equity | Founder @ Found Coaching | Social Mobility | Empowering Finance Professionals to achieve more in less time (with less stress)
Here’s what I 𝒘𝒊𝒔𝒉 someone had told me at the start of my career in Finance: 1. 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 ≠ 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 → My work-life boundaries were about as clear as thick fog on a winter morning 😅. Frazzled. → A tired brain is a slower one. It's important to switch off and make time for things that make you feel good. 2. 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 → I used to feel inferior having come from a state-school-educated, low-income background. → Now, I recognise it gave me relentless drive, huge ambitions, and different perspectives. 3. 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 → Self-development and coaching doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg to work wonders (thankfully). → But missing out on being the best version of yourself comes at an even bigger cost. 4. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 → I was too busy grinding to consider how I could improve my brain health and cognitive performance. → You can leverage flow states to achieve faster and better results (without the high stress). 5. 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐦 → I accepted high stress as “just part of the job”. The tight chest, elevated heart rate, and occasional eye twitch. → Now I know how much it impairs your performance & overall wellbeing so learnt the tools to manage it well. Bonus: I wish I knew not all offices would have these epic views (sad times) 😂 There’s a whole lot more I’ll be sharing in the coming weeks! What do you wish you knew then, that you know now? You could be saving someone a bucket load of agony later down the line ⬇ #Finance #Coaching #CareersinFinance
