I freaking love working in the staffing industry. We get to spend all day talking to people, which is exactly what most of us are wired to do… And make 300K, 500K, or even more each year because of the impact we make for clients But there’s one thing that holds so many people in staffing & solutions back from reaching the highest levels. They can’t get over themselves. Specifically: they can’t get over people saying “NO” over and over and over. It’s something that took me years to uncover, but once I did it changed everything. They’re on the other side of a huge barrier: a barrier of lots & lots of people telling you “no” Calling through a list of potential clients and getting the right hiring manager to talk to you? That’s hard. People hang up on you. People are mean to you. People will tell you to never call them again. People will block your number. There’s an absolute ton of rejection before you ever get to a “yes.” Most people can’t get over themselves enough to push through those 99 “nos” to reach the “yes.” But those who do? The rewards are absolutely worth it.
