Sales - it isn't a bad thing! There are so many preconceptions and negatives associated with the selling. At Exemplia Learning we've recently launched a graduate training programme that actually focuses on sales skills. Our client was concerned that their super-great graduates were missing these core skills, and wanted to address this. Many graduates come out of University with good knowledge of marketing, entrepreneurship and many other business skills. But rarely do these skills include anything about selling. And selling is one of the key ways businesses grow - whether through account management or new business. So what is selling? And what isn't it? - Selling is about relationship building and needs a process, the same as any other part of business success - Selling isn't about pushing people to buy things, being manipulative or just talking until someone gives in - Selling is about identifying problems and generating or matching solutions and services - Selling isn't only for extroverts and it isn't all about making money - Selling is about understanding how businesses work and how to create value for all parties At its heart sales skills are about being able to understand, connect and sell ideas, and concepts to other people. It brings together so many other areas, such as marketing, strategy and core business skills, with people and communication skills. #sales #selling #newbusiness #commercial

Enterprise Sales @Corsearch I GTM Advisor I Track-Record of helping people to get into Tech Sales | | Advisor at Apollo.io & Limelight | Angel Investor
𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬? In my opinion when it comes to sales, skills often take the front seat compared to degrees. While education provides a solid foundation, what truly sets you apart are qualities like adaptability, empathy, resilience, problem-solving, and, most importantly, delivering results. Sales is all about human connection, understanding needs, and offering solutions. Degrees may open doors, but it's your skills that close deals. The ideal mix lies in a blend of formal education and practical expertise. Continual learning, staying in tune with industry trends, and mastering your craft are the keys to thriving. In sales, it's not just what you know but how you use it that defines success. What's your stance on the skills vs. degrees debate in sales? Share your thoughts! #sales #degree #skills

Incoming Audit Intern at Forvis '25 | Accounting Student at Manchester's Gilbert College of Business
I was scrolling on LinkedIn and saw a post my Sales Professor reposted recently. As I begin to embark on my Junior year of college, It made me think deeper about the accomplishments that I have made, and those that I aspire to achieve this upcoming year within the academic, social, and personal levels. Instead of saying "I wish to achieve" I will say "I will achieve" I will achieve the following: - Branching out of comfort zones - Create strategies to improve and expand my network - Utilizing SMART goals to attain the previous years dreams - Seek support when necessary - Stay committed to the overall goal. #AchieveYourGoals #SuccessMindset #StayFocused

So how does studying a Sales master's impact the company you work for ? Reflecting on my conversation a few months back with Fred Diamond about the transformative power of a Master's in Sales, I have seen how education can reshape our careers and the sales profession itself. This journey goes beyond climbing the career ladder; it truly embeds the core values like authenticity, client-centricity, proactive creativity, and tactful audacity into our daily practice. Starting from roles like an account manager and rising to executive levels, the growth experienced is not just in title but in the breadth of influence and responsibility. Those who go through the master's programme make a tangible difference within their teams and organisations, fostering a culture that values growth and professionalism in sales. I have been privileged to witness individuals who have journeyed through this educational pathway contribute significantly to our profession, from publishing in academic journals to writing insightful books. This education isn't just about personal or organisational advancement but about elevating the sales profession as a whole. The importance of these sales education pathways become even clearer. They promise not just career growth but a holistic transformation, impacting the individual, the organisation, and the broader sales community. #sales #salestransformation #saleseducation
