Let's talk employment scams ..... Recently, I came across a situation involving someone who was involved in a highly sophisticated employment scam. Fortunately, they questioned the legitimacy of the employment offer by contacting the company HR department directly, revealing that the "offer" they had received was not legitimate. Unfortunately, it was not before they found themselves excited about a new opportunity, and even filling out fake tax documents with all of their personal information. Scammers are usually after information and/or money, and without a high degree of due diligence on the part of the job seeker, it can be hard to distinguish the real from the fake. They are also becoming increasingly common. Check out this article on this very topic, learn about some of the more common scams, as well as how to avoid falling prey to them: https://lnkd.in/gHVH6uJN

“I would never consider a counteroffer”, said to me by every candidate that’s ultimately considered one. They've all fallen into at least 1 of 2 categories: A) Didn’t think they would get one. B) Weren’t leaving for financial reasons. If you fall in camp A - over 90% of actively employed candidates I've placed throughout my career received counteroffers. Prepare yourself. If you’re in camp B - “counteroffer” doesn’t mean “more money”. One candidate who took a pay cut for better mentorship had her boss immediately offer to hire a more senior attorney above her. So again: prepare yourself. What's my point here? If there's any chance you’d consider staying, give your manager the courtesy of a conversation & chance to fix your pain points 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 looking elsewhere. And if it truly takes another company recognizing your value for them to finally do the same, it's time to move on. Because once they sense you might leave, any offer they make is driven by self-interest rather than genuine respect.

I am seeing that the job market is still static, not many people hiring and not many people moving to new jobs. As a local agency we can help with the Impact of Bad Hires and offer our service to prevent them. In difficult time companies sometime rush in to hiring and don't always get it right. We can take the time to search and speak to candidates in more depth to make sure you get the right hire and a strong work force. #RecruitmentRevolution
