"𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥" trumps "𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞"! 💪 That was the conclusion of a report from Boston Consulting Group (BCG) a few weeks ago which highlighted: ▶ Skills-based hires are 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 to their employers. They have a 9% lengthier tenure at their organisations than traditional hires. ▶ Hiring for skills is five times more predictive of 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 than hiring for 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and more than two times more predictive than hiring for 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. ▶ Those hired for skills get 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐝 at a rate comparable to that of traditional hires. A new survey of 2,000 HR leaders that Spotted Zebra has conducted in partnership with PeopleScout reveals that skills-based hiring has only been adopted by around 𝐚 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 of businesses to date.
