If there was an Olympics for work, would you qualify? In the world of sports: it doesn't matter where you come from, how good your coach was, even how hard you trained. Only your performance counts. The fastest athlete wins the medal. Why isn't that true at work? Probably because workplace skills are harder to measure than sporting skills. But that's not a very good reason when experts agree that skill-based hiring methods are more effective. At Crossover, we've hired 5000+ candidates worldwide through skills-based assessments. Like Olympic qualifiers: it's about what you can do right now, period. That makes it difficult, but fair. When you're searching for the best in the world, not everyone qualifies. Missing the cut doesn't mean you're not talented. Even world-class athletes sometimes stumble, get injured, or don't make the team in the first place. No matter how devastating the scenario may be: the solution is not to lower the bar and let everybody participate. Is the world ready to embrace an Olympic-level meritocracy in hiring, or are we too attached to traditional credentials? Let's hear your thoughts! 👇 #FutureOfWork #GlobalTalent #Olympics

🧂 Ever salt your food without tasting it? Or washed a mug in an interview? These quirky questions hint at something bigger - the power of soft skills. According to Harvard, Stanford, and The Carnegie Foundation, a meteoric 85% of job success stems from soft skills, not the technical ones that only account for 15%. Shocking, right! Great remote leaders excel in soft skills. Do you? If not, it’s time for a strategic pivot: 1️⃣ Emotional Agility: More essential than yoga for maintaining team flexibility! 2️⃣ Team Support: Think of yourself as a coach, and every project deadline is game day. 3️⃣ Asynchronous Work Ethic: Master time zones like you’re leveling up in a video game. It’s high time to prioritize the soft skills that will redefine your remote career. 💡 Let’s get started! #Leadership #RemoteWork #ManagementSkills #ProfessionalGrowth #SoftSkills #HardSkills #RemoteLeadership

📚 "You don't need a college degree to succeed in tech!" Really? Let's unpack this myth. Sure, we've got Steve Jobs and Zuckerberg. But let's be real - they're outliers. Did you know? • Zuckerberg had early access to programming and a private tutor • He attended an elite prep school with advanced computing resources • His Harvard network made Facebook possible The truth? For most of us in tech, degrees still matter. A lot. 🎓 The irony? • Most tech is so new, directly related degrees don't exist • AI is challenging traditional education • LinkedIn's CEO says AI will make one-off learning (like degrees) obsolete Yet, tech companies still demand outlandish degrees from Ivy Leagues. Make it make sense! 💼 Experience vs. Degree: The ugly truth • 30 years of experience < 4 years of study (Opportunity@Work study) • A fresh graduate earns more than someone with 30 years experience but no degree Is this fair? No. Is it reality? Unfortunately, yes. 🔍 The bottom line: • Education is crucial, but experience should carry more weight • Overreliance on degrees is keeping talented people from advancing • We need to change this narrative in tech What's your take? Have you faced this degree dilemma in your tech career? Share your thoughts! 👇 #TechCareers #TechJobs #Recruitment #Hiring
