Young people navigating the world 🌎
I want to share my little story in hopes of inspiring and uplifting anyone unsure about their career or just entering the workforce. Not to talk about myself, but to demonstrate how quickly things can change!
After working my first 'full-time' role for a while, I decided to do something with my college qualifications and move into a familiar field to build a career.
I thought because it was something I was good at, something I had studied, and even my father's profession, it was the path for me.
I will NEVER forget my first day in that role. It was absolutely brutal. Being a trainee, I was always working alongside someone.
And boy, they made it glaringly obvious with every word and action how inexperienced, young, and immature I was.
Call me what you will. But picturing myself 10 years down this path scared the absolute hell out of me.
After spending months hating every second of my working day, I decided enough was enough, I didn't care what was next, I just couldn't do it anymore.
In my free time I had been learning about Web3, De-Fi and the world of crypto. This led me to finding a role in recruitment focused around this.
With zero idea of what recruitment was, I hit apply.
6 months later I was earning over 2.5x as much money.
In a role where I find enjoyment and purpose.
I look back at such a key moment, one click, that changed everything for me.
I've seen young people accused of being lazy, complaining too much, or unmotivated.
The fact is guys, we have dreams. Look to the future. Look at those ahead of you on your path. Is that who you want to be?
If anyone needs help applying for a role, interview tips or any advice I can help with in general. Do reach out, I'll do what I can!
