IT Sales recruiter with 191 recommendations. Grown up who will tell you truth. 24 years experience. I only work on roles I'd take myself.
How important to you is a company's DEI policy when you're considering a new role? Also, how important is it that companies actively promote their DEI? I was talking to candidate last week (hope you read this, loved the conversation) and she asked me the question about a client I'm recruiting for. I had a conversation along similar lines with a client. He was saying that they take it very seriously but he feels like we're nearing a point where if you don't promote DEI, you're viewed negatively and DEI is now about promotion of DEI for marketing more than actually doing it. I sort of agree with him. I'm 100% sure I do my very best to not have any bias. I truly care about one thing; are you a good match to my client's needs?Everything else is secondary. But again, I don't feel I need to promote that and worry/wonder whether more vocal affirmation is needed. Interested to hear your thoughts.

CMO Advisor l Author “Responsible Marketing” | Adweek Creative 100 2023 | Anthem Award-Winning Inclusive Marketing Strategist | Keynote Speaker | Moderator | Workshop Facilitator | Linkedin Top Voice in Marketing
This POV is everything that is wrong with how deeply we misunderstand the goal of #responsiblemarketing. Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but there is nothing wrong with profiting from Juneteenth, as long as initiatives that may lead to profit also center, uplift, and positively impact the community. If a Black-owned business is contracted for design services for example, what is wrong with a brand selling Juneteenth merch? The message is spread, and Black people who may be interested in purchasing such items have those items available. As Myles Worthington, Edgar Hernandez, Lela Coffey, Michelle Wong, and I discussed today at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity - Nobody wins when we designate social impact and inclusivity a "not for profit" zone. If it's okay for a non Black ADWEEK columnist to benefit from talking about Juneteenth, it's just as okay for a brand that isn't Black-owned to profit from Juneteenth - if real social impact that... ✔️ solves real problems ✔️ tells real stories ✔️ creates real opportunities, or ✔️ influences real policies ...is part of the value equation. If the word marketing is involved, it is always going to involve the goal of commercial impact. The key is to create win wins for both historically-excluded people and brands. The alternative is doing nothing - and as we've seen from the pull-back from PRIDE month activations...that is not what we want. Let's encourage brands to get it right, not shame them into not trying at all. #juneteenth #responsiblereframe #responsiblemarketing

Some good tips as we kick off #blackhistorymonth. Also adding in the below from CEL agency: "Before chiming in publicly, consider the work your organization is doing to advance equity for your employees — and the people you serve. Are you concerned about doing better, day in and day out? Have you created systems, programs or structures to hear and meet their needs? Are these groups receiving your best attention and effort? If the answer is no, not quite or not yet, invest your time and energy in that work. The next time an awareness month rolls around, you’ll be closer to having the essential foundation necessary to use your voice for good." #communications #employeecommunications

Content Creator. Social Media Consultant. Digital Marketer. Admin Support Specialist and Facilitator.
What do I want to talk about? My services. I am an administrative support consultant by trade; offering all kinds of office support and creative services like ghost writing, blogging or social media management. Often businesses try to 'hire' individuals as employees. But there has been a trend emerging over the years that allow independent professionals like me to assist companies and sole proprietors at their point of need-- short and long term. Along with the office support, we mix in a variety of ways of helping you get noticed on social media. Awareness campaigns, blogs, tweets, Instagram posts and the like, just to name a few. There are probably many fancy names for that kind of support... but, mainly, I like to call it "help". Reach out if you need it...there are a lot of people who can. #dhspeller #consultant #supportservices #awarenesscampaigns
