Prediction for CSUN AT Conference this week: I’m going to not remember someone that I likely should remember. I can tell because as I’m travelling there I am coming up with names of people whose faces I may not recognize in the halls. I’m also remembering people that I know I worked with in some capacity and can picture in my head, but can’t for the life of me think of their names. Or where they work now. For others it may be that we’ve interacted online but very little in person and I know your avatar/username better than I know you. Here’s my promise to myself: I’m not gonna beat myself up over it. I will ask the awkward questions, I’ll get more context, and I’ll forgive myself for not remembering. Please give me (and everyone else, really) the same grace as this massive, caring community comes together 🙂 #CSUNATC24
In situations like this (AKA most of the times I leave the house), my secret is to act like pretty much everyone is a long-lost friend. Excited to see them (maybe again), eager to connect. It's a nice way to move through the world!
THIS! Thank you for saying it.
Focus on the informative speakers — and wear the names tags
