The demand for accurate cash forecasting surged significantly during COVID-19 and is still on a rise. As CFOs shift gears to enhance liquidity management and improve cash forecasting, treasurers are increasingly adopting to data visualization technologies for decision-making, with enhanced use of cloud-based solutions with AI/ML capabilities. The question then presents itself; how do we balance the need for agility and innovation in payment solutions with the importance of maintaining strong relationships with traditional banking partners?

Before we extend our congratulations, I would like to take a moment to remind all our new leaders of the ICSI Act, 1980, which prevails over any guidelines or rules. It is crucial to remember that the Act outlines the key principles and objectives of our organization and should be the guiding force behind all our decisions and actions. Now is the time to enhance our professional acumen and come together strategically to make the profession of Company Secretaries (CS) stronger and more respected. As leaders, it is our responsibility to ensure that the officers of ICSI work to our directions, instead of simply taking directions from them. We must prioritize the best interests of our members and the profession as a whole. It is time to demonstrate selflessness and dedication to achieving the lost targets of ICSI. We are at a critical juncture and it is imperative that we work tirelessly to enhance the value and relevance of the CS profession. Growth and Success: Moving from CFO to CEO. Chris Munday has followed a career path that many aspire to. Allura Partners sat down with Chris to find out more about his journey to date and how it has shaped him as a leader. 

Corporate world is replete with examples of Board Meetings, shareholders meeting, AGMs, customers meet, suppliers meet, and distributors meet. How about an annual meeting of retired directors where the incumbent CEO updates the retired directors on the happenings at the company and seeks the views of retired directors in tiding over challenges? India's largest FMCG company, Hindustan Unilever Ltd is the only company that's known to celebrate its retired leaders. The retired directors' meet was started in 1999 in what has now become a part of HUL's ingrained culture of respecting history and legacy. The meet intends to tap into knowledge base in an informal way. Nearly all the retired directors from across the country attend this event every year. HUL looks after their stay and travel. The evening starts with a group photograph, and the incumbent CEO gives a 'state of the union' address. The CEO and his top team fields probing questions from the retired directors. At the end, most senior retired directors give an after-dinner speech in which they reflect on business and share anecdotes from company lore. The retired directors meet is an acknowledgement and celebration of past directors who have contributed to the company's growth. This is an opportunity to tap into the enormous goodwill and collective wisdom of retired directors. Long live this fine tradition that represents the best of institution building.
