You know that an office move is fast approaching when you start to see the boxes stack up. Despite the planning and huge logistical operation that this move is fast becoming we managed to find time today for a bit of moving fun... Attendance in office is a lot like a game of UNO. You get regular days, on which you have to come on time. These are your numbered cards. Then you get regularizations once every week which allow you to come in a bit late that day. These are your Draw 2s. Then you get a couple of work-from-homes a week. These are the Wild Cards. Powerful. And of course your paid leaves, which you can collect over the year. These are your Draw 4s. The challenge is to decide when to play what. If I get late to office, should I use my regularization or take a work-from-home? Or should I just turn back, go home and use my Draw 4? And when do I get to say UNO?

▶ ▶ I went to work with Fist Bump about a year and a half ago. It is the first job I have had where I work remotely and don’t travel. No problem I thought. I have a nice office in my home. Boy did I get that wrong! I learned that there are two common problems that I have. They are…lack of structure and routine and clear separation of work and personal space.
