Welp, it's the end of an era. Time to say goodbye to Truffle Suite (thanks for the memories 😭 ) Truffle and Ganache are a couple OG solidity development frameworks. You could use it for smart contract testing on locally run blockchains, to dApp deployment. I remember when I was first learning about smart contract development, and truffle was head-to-head with Hardhat. Good times! Hardhat definitely has larger market share now. Consensys and Hardhat have actually gotten a partnership moving during the 90 day sunset of Truffle, so developers can migrate easily. Why is this important? The tools and frameworks that developers opt for play a pivotal role in determining the efficiency, security, and scalability of their projects. And Consensys has made been pretty transparent with where they have the largest demand: Infura, MetaMask Snaps, and SDK offerings. So, it looks like the Consensys team is consolidating their engineers to other projects to expand support there. Day 681 Open Source is a powerful culture. Decentralization and Open Source are complimentary to each other. Yet, we don’t see enough decentralized products leading the open source initiatives. Development is still restricted to the “labs” of all the decentralized teams. If we are to truly grow this ecosystem then Open Source initiatives need to be taken up and we have to grow the products through code contributions from the community. This will be one of the initiatives we intend to take up at Shardeum for 2024. We want to ensure we foster an open source community that helps build the Shardeum software. Ideas and suggestions on how to make this happen are always welcome 🙏 #BuildWeb3

My tiny PR https://lnkd.in/gxvn48tm just merged on Ockam, I've always been passionate about open source software, and I'm thrilled to be able to contribute to such a high-profile project. Even though my PR was small, it's still helping to make Ockam even better and more secure. If you're interested in contributing to open source, I encourage you to check out Ockam! Here are a few tips for getting started: - Checkout some document for understanding: https://lnkd.in/gMcY5kU7 - https://lnkd.in/gAjRGwhP - https://lnkd.in/gFDt-g36 - Start small, "good first issues" http://surl.li/mpugm is a good starting point. - Don't be afraid to ask for help. The open source community is very welcoming and helpful. (join Ockam Discord channel : https://lnkd.in/g2-U_HEz ) Contributing to open source is a great way to learn new skills, make a difference, and meet new people. I highly recommend it! And join our RustSA (Southeast Asia) community for growing up together - https://lnkd.in/gd9aHSFw
