Remembering and honoring our founder and forever mentor, Mr. Effy Hematian, on what would be his 80th Birthday today.
We will always cherish Mr. Effy for his kind heart, beautiful impact on the world, and the way he led by example.
I fondly remember his remarkable legacy, including the enduring partnership with MSC Cruises. His vision and leadership not only shaped our path but also fostered significant collaborations
You can tell the man not only by his amazing achievements but also by the quality of his children. Mr. Effy did exceptionally well in both. Most of all, he worked hard to be just in his decisions. A great man indeed.
WHAT’S YOUR 4 MINUTE MILE?
=====================
On the historic 70th anniversary of Sir Roger Bannister’s legendary feat of being the first human to run under four minutes in the mile, I share the most important performance enhancing “secret” he used to achieve greatness.
Do you have a hurdle holding you back?
Is there a barrier you want to overcome?
Do you have your own four minute mile?
Take and apply the lesson in this video and use it to inspire your next record breaking performance!
Many of us are supposedly in the 'top 1%', and I guess we could be called 'elites' -- born this way, or ambitiously self-made -- therefore as a global class we must be willing to be the most self-critical in the first instance, if any discussions arise about stemming social inequality. Many insecure people are actually eager to uphold a hierarchical society; e.g., anyone seeking status via 'costly signalling'/ heroic consumerism are doing just this (whether they are conscious of this, or not). But the paradox is, it's likely to be only the elites that will be able to engineer change. I believe it will be the people who have both been working people AND elite in their own lifetimes -- one and the same -- who will have the most both-ways empathy and governing intelligence, here.

Watch this!!! He articulated everything 100% on point.
I love that Pelosi was present and had to hear all this while sitting literally about 10 feet away from the podium 😂
Who’s else is ready to get our country back already?!?! 🇺🇸💪🏼🇺🇸💪🏼
Such a great conversation, this. Two things really resonated for me
How important it is to disentangle doing important work from working *too* hard. I think that this is such an easy trap to fall into if you work in a charity or similar. The work matters, and there is always too much to do but this can easily mask other less helpful drivers. At what point are you working 'too' much, neglecting the many other important things in your life, because you are trying to validate your existence or avoid difficult emotions?
How to hold all the suffering AND still enjoy life and take time to play -that it is possible to pay attention to the terrible things that are happening in the world and bear witness to them, and at the same time, enjoy your weekend. I have been really struggling with fear of the accelerating climate crisis, and horror at the suffering in Palestine. Finding a way to live with this, honestly, and not let it eclipse finding joy in daily life is a work in progress for me!
Highly recommend the whole podcast. Hope you find it useful

Here are a few takeaways from Cabrini:
1. Begin the mission and the means will come
2. We can serve our weaknesses or our purpose, not both
3. There will be a time where you have to face your fears, and lead. Whether the leader is there or not, you must continue the mission
4. We don’t get to choose how we come into the world, but through God he gives us the freedom to choose what we do with it
5. We are bold, or we die
6. If you want to get sh*t done, always go to the decision maker. Find the who to get the how.
7. When you operate like your life is on the line, you can change the world in 2 years. URGENCY AND INTENSITY.
Even more true when doing a startup where the expectations often are that you should work 60-80 hours a week.
It is so hard, but so important to keep what really matters in the world top of mind always.
Your health, your family and nature.
And the only reason health goes first is because it's your biggest responsibility towards your family.
Joy, play, nature and family are all part of startup success.
And like health, a loving family and being active in nature can be used as enablers to build a really good business for the long run.
And let's never forget how important it is to recognize the true values in life when we are building our products. We make a gazillion micro decisions every day that shapes our products.
Let's make products that we are proud of in the long run. 🌳

Wow! Explains A LOT!
Stopped me in my tracks.
Thanks Holly Morris & Alex Partridge for sheding light on something thats been niggling me for years!
For as long as I can remember I've questioned how long things last (degrees, course, etc). ⏳️
Or once the dopamine rush of a new creative idea has worn off, how long will it be before I hit the crash? 💥
What happens if this idea takes off, I go full throttle, create a whirlwind and then lose the drive & let people down? 😵💫
When I was barely conscious of this, I would seek out people who could enable me to get the idea across the line, or who could deliver on a idea (& therefore less flakey than me).
Ive come to realise theres a couple of issues with this;
1) my dreams & goals are my dreams & goals. Yes, leverage other people's skills to realise your dreams BUT its a fine line between blending skills and expecting others to do it for you. And, I suspect I used the excuse to seek out 'help' as a deliberate attempt to avoid the uncomfortableness of having to do it myself. Subconsciously sabotaging the idea to stay 'safe'.
2) The idea that I can't follow through or that I have an untrainable skill gap is misguided self awareness. Someone, somewhere, at some point in time, may have said something which I chose to internalise as 'I cant'.
I looked for evidence to back this up by replaying unhelpful scenarios & tagged those memories with the label of failure, none finisher, needs help etc etc
It's a fine line between knowing your abilities so you can find complimenting skills and letting those lacking skills shame you....
As part of my mindfulness practice I remind myself everyday of my gifts of creativity and my thirst for inquiry. I'm a creator and my medium for delivery is self expression.
Managing ADHD shame & over thinking is a life long practice. My brain feels like a sandstorm of ideas. I just can't follow up on all of them.
But, whats the rush....??
Sure, i risk some ideas falling by the wayside but, my purpose is to keep creating and keep expressing.
And, what was meant to be will follow with perfect timing. ♾️😍
It is never to late to make a different choice.
What are you sacrificing to justify your existence?
What are you saying is most important? Are you actually making choices that support this or are your choices compromising these?
If the latter, it is not too late.
Make a new choice, and set things in the right path!
