It is really impressive how much applause the resistance to the Israel onslaught is getting now, even without the support of the powerful Western countries, including the USA. One must ask oneself if the West knows what amount of power they created by the establishing of the state Israel, remembering that it is a nuclear power, with most surrounding countries forbidden to get nuclear powers. Will the West, when it matters and wants to, be able to stop a right wing and non-democratic government of Israel?
Beautiful sister, Palestinian scholar Noura Erakat addressed crowds at massive Washington, D.C., rally for a ceasefire in Gaza. “Today we failed, we failed to stop the skies from crashing down phosphorus flames onto dreams of Palestinian children.”

When will we evolve to embrace peaceful coexistence? The grave violations of human rights in war include using rape as a weapon, recruiting children to serve, launching direct attacks on civilians, and indiscriminate or disproportionate attacks (Amnesty International). It's time for society to prioritize healing and nurturing capacities over the size of armed forces. Traumas of war or genocide can be repeated for generations if healing and reconciliation don't take place. The statistics from UNICEF are harrowing: 17k children unaccompanied or separated in the Gaza strip. The repercussions for each child, whose mental scarring will linger for generations, are unimaginable. The cost of healing will be astronomically higher than the war effort. We need multi-generational commitment to healing to restore security, self-worth, and identity. Without it, lack of mental peace will continue to disrupt peaceful coexistence for generations to come. #peacefulcoexistence #humanrights #healing #reconciliation

Others were turned into pieces, or their bodies were burned, or they are still stuck under the rubble of their homes, or they were killed before they emerged from their mothers’ bellies. ⚠️The occupation killed more than 2,360 Palestinian children in 18 days.

We Will Not Be Broken We step into 2024 facing and feeling the intensifying and brutal pressure of Empire’s genocidal, extractive and exploitive violence in the US, Palestine, Congo, Sudan, Haiti, Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan and beyond. We step into 2024 remembering and protecting the life-giving wisdom of our teachers and ancestors, who remind us of that which Empire cannot take away from us: our collective power when we act lovingly from the deep knowing of and commitment to our interconnection. The future is relational. And the future is now. We are being called to step into our collective power to protect one another and our humanity. We are being called to take risks in service of solidarity and collective freedom. We are being called (again) to recalibrate to a new reality in which our grief and rage weigh heavy alongside the beauty of our joy and hope. May this year bring us all deep insight, meaningful connection, and renewed inspiration for how best to channel our gifts into powerful, liberating service for the benefit of all.

When people travel to far off places, one of of the most common descriptors is "it's a different world". You arrive at your new location and all of your senses are flooded with sensory information. The landscape, temperature, sights, sounds, smells, energy, and attitude are all different than what you are used to. Most of the time, you're on vacation. You're looking forward to relaxation or adventure in a different environment than your normal. The next thing we usually hear is " I can get used to this!" "One of the fears I have is that the situation is being normalized" -Mansour Shouman But what if where you are is not a different world but, seemingly, a different universe altogether? An upside down place where the crack of gunfire has become as common as the sound of a bird singing in a tree, or the blast wave of bombs as normal as the summer breeze. A place where digging through rubble to find friends and loved ones is a daily task, like going to the market once was. But this is not normal. This is not how they choose to live. This is how they are being forced to die. Palestinians did not do this. Palestinians are not doing this. The governments of Israel and the United States are doing this. And we are all allowing it. If it were happening in your town, you would stop. You would make different choices. Your priorities would change. But it's not happening in your town. And it doesn't take much effort to not have to hear about it. So you go on pretending it's not happening at all. Pretending your daily transactions aren't funding it. Pretending you have nothing to do with it and you are powerless to do anything about it anyway. But playing pretend and denying doesn't absolve you. There is nothing Just, Moral, or Ethical, about what is going on in Palestine. There is nothing normal about pretending that it is. #humanity #challengethestatusquo #ethicalleadership #globalaffairs #gaza #ceasefire #palestine
Mar 5 - Live from Qatar: Here is my interview with Al Jazeera English. We discussed everything that is happening in Gaza right now. We discussed the ongoing genocide, starvation, death of children, bombardment, Palestinian resilience and more. Please share in your networks. Keep amplifying Palestinian voices, push your governments to put an end to the genocide, to put an end to the starvation and to instil a ceasefire. Together, we can make a difference.

It is week 21 of this shattering military invasion and we are now, possibly, on the brink of a temporary #ceasefire for six weeks, until the end of Ramadan. We all hope that this achievement is now only few days or hours away, and it will be possible for people in Gaza to get access to urgently needed #humanitarianaid very soon. Millions of people are starving, intentionally kept in a state of forced starvation, which is simply inhumane. Even the US leadership has been ‘moved’ by this atrocious situation and has decided to #airdrop some emergency supplies with one hand, while with the other hand they keep helping IDF to drop devastating bombs on the same population, killing more than an average of 100 children per day. That’s the awful #hypocrisy of these times. Hence, the appeal for this week to The White House is to make sure we arrive at a declared ceasefire with the utmost urgency, because every minute wasted means more lives killed by inaction. Mr President of The White House and Executive Office of the President, for months we have been imploring you to make use of your diplomatic and political powers to withdraw your support to the Zionist regime and call for a #ceasefirenow There couldn’t be a more opportune time than now to #stopthegenocide ————-— Please react and comment with at least five words and 2-3 hashtags. Your message will get directly to the Executive Office of the President, the only person that could stop this catastrophe. Please share this original post across your network with direct messages to your contacts on LinkedIn and on Instagram with the hashtag #ceasefirenow Middle East Eye Al Jazeera English The Palestine Chronicle The Washington Post The Guardian BBC News Libération Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor Al-Haq Organisation | مؤسة الحق
