The Castilian
🤘 What is the story behind INM Marketing Group?
We’re a second-generation company that is focused on the non-traditional marketing niche of branded merch (promotional items). We’re quirky and fun, but at the end of the day our goal is to ensure we can help our clients tell their unique story in a lasting way.
🤘 How can Longhorns help you and/or how can you help Longhorns?
We’re here to support other Longhorn-backed companies, large and small. So I’d put that back on the others and say, tell us how we can help you!

It wasn’t really on campus, but it was a regular rotation between Double Dave’s in The Castilian, Texadelphia on the Drag, and Players on MLK.

Today I've got my Further Education Governor hat on.
I'll be spending the day with governor colleagues, students and the leadership team of South Thames Colleges Group.
We'll do doing a strategic stocktake, visiting classes and talking to students, reviewing our risks, making future plans and more.
Why do I do it? Lots of reasons, so to list just a few:
- I care about the quality of education and about tackling inequality. Being an FE governor is a great way to do something proactive to help secure great learning for everyone.
- It keeps me grounded in the realities of public sector leadership and change which my clients are facing.
- I believe it's important to pay things forward. I've landed on my feet and have privilege in lots of ways and this is a way for me to offer my skills and experience to support my local community for the future.
Basically, it's a win all round!
Here's the thing though. Colleges and schools always need more governors. We especially need governors who represent our student populations - younger, Black or global majority, disabled, LGBTQ+.
This excellent video by Justin Placide - Co-Chair of The Civil Service Race Forum explains more about the benefits of governance And if you'd like to know more about FE governance, especially at South Thames where we'd live to continue strengthening the diversity of our Corporation, please DM me.

🎤 📹 Reporting for Foothill Community News (Chapter 1):
As my first semester at Foothill Community News comes to an end, I am grateful for the hands-on learning experience it provided me. I was able to not just be a reporter but an anchor for news and sports. I learned to work behind the scenes as well with camera 3 and do graphics for show 6. Additionally, to make this last show special, I was able to work on a side project (which I will continue next year as well). I took some of this semester's classwork and combined it to highlight my hardworking peers!
Semester 1 of FCN was a pivotal chapter in my personal and professional story.
🔎 Pitching Stories: The work of pitching stories was an art. Bi-weekly I would seek topics and narratives that were of importance to the cities of La Verne, San Dimas, and Claremont, as well as to our student body. From covering celebrations, consumer trends, and strikes, every story was an opportunity to shed light on an important subject.
🤝 Building Connections: This experience allowed me to connect with students, faculty, and community partners/residents, and overall learn the key to effective communication and relationship building. Those connections not only enriched my experience as an FCN reporter but have laid a foundation for future work I plan to create.
🌍 Lifetime Skills: As an FCN reporter I learned and sharpened skills that go beyond journalism. Time management, research, and versatility are just a few of the many skills FCN helped me with. Now I will integrate them into my professionalism toolkit to prepare me for the diverse careers in the media.
💭 Final Thoughts: This journey was a mix of challenges and accomplishments. It was a time when I shaped my writing, reporting, and visual creativity. It was a semester where I took on opportunities different from what I was used to. Nevertheless, I'm excited to carry on these experiences and learn lessons throughout my journey as a journalist.
🎄 Watch my last story of the semester: Christmas on Columbia (a neighborhood in Pomona)

Ever pondered the authenticity behind the curated personas we present on social media? 🤔
Yesterday I visited Nick Waplington's 'Living Room' series at Hamiltons Gallery an exploration of real life in its most raw and unfiltered form.
Through his lens, Waplington challenges us to reconsider the narratives we construct online and embrace the beauty of imperfection.
It raises some questions:
How authentic are we on social media, and how much of ourselves are we truly willing to reveal?
Do we even desire to present our true selves on social platforms?
What is the purpose of social media – to showcase our true selves or solely for business endeavors?
I’m still working it out 😂What about you?
