The Conway Area Leadership Institute Class of 2023 is officially in the books! We honored the class this week at its graduation ceremony. Chuck Kirkpatrick was named the 2023 Class Champion, which is awarded to a CALI participant for engagement and commitment shown throughout the program. Emily Walter received the Dan Nabholz Emerging Leader Award, which recognizes a CALI graduate from the past five years who has demonstrated leadership qualities in service to Conway. In addition to their ten-month program with sessions on topics like community and economic development, education and workforce development, health care, public safety, and community leadership, CALI participants complete impact projects. The 2023 class raised more than $70,000 through their projects to support Deliver Hope, Mosaic Meals, and the Boys and Girls Club of Faulkner County. The funds were used to build an outdoor sitting area for at-risk youth to meet with mentors, purchase a vehicle for food pantry deliveries, and provide 150 area kids with transportation for after-school programming. CALI prepares emerging leaders to serve our community through a ten-month curriculum based on the community's long-range strategic plan. It is underwritten by FAB&T and sponsored by Reynolds Performance Hall, the Windgate Center for Fine & Performing Arts, and Winthrop Rockefeller Institute. Session underwriters are Central Baptist College, Conway Corporation, Conway Regional Health System, Engage Management, Green Bay Packaging, H + N Architects, Kutak Rock, Klaasmeyer Construction, Nabholz Corporation, and Rogers Group Inc.
