Another article I got the chance to write for Semi-Pro. A bit of a data piece on Step 3 football clubs and how their tickets compare to not just their own leagues but the EFL as well. What some clubs charge is extortionate. Had a great time writing this story, getting the data and making the graphics. #sport #nonleaguefootball #media #sportjournalism #datajournalism #englandfootball #soccer #football #article

Leicester City Summer Transfer Strategy Revealed https://ift.tt/l69vcZR Championship side Leicester City are set to turn their attention to targets in South America as they seek to locate bargains in the summer transfer market it has been revealed. Enzo Maresca’s side have had a turbulent few months after dropping points in the title race, which has almost handed the initiative to competitors Ipswich Town and Leeds United. The club have also been locked in a legal dispute with the EFL and Premier League over proposed punishments due to financial breaches whilst in the top tier. The Foxes have reportedly, according to Alan Nixon on his Patreon account, sent scout Sean St Ledger to hunt for potential targets in the Brazilian market. The top European leagues have often looked to South America for cut price deals on top talents. The Premier League has demonstrated this year that if you are ill-prepared for the season, you may find yourself once again fighting relegation. Luton Town, Sheffield United and Burnley occupy the bottom three spots, just a year after they were celebrating their promotion. Leicester City Champions Elect No More? The Championship side at one stage looked certain to not only win promotion, but also to be crowned Champions. In fact on the 10th February 2024, website transfermarkt.com published an article speculating that the Foxes could smash the record for the second tier. In the last 10 league games, Leicester City have only won three, whilst drawing one and losing six and sit 19th in the form table. Ipswich Town and Leeds United have gained ten and eight points respectively on the promotion chasers during that period. This has left not only the title in the balance but also the possibility of automatic promotion with third place only guaranteeing a spot in the play-offs. Brazilian Talent Leicester City are not the first, nor will they be the last to look to the Brazillian market in the hunt for a bargain. The likes of Neymar, Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo are notable names that have been plucked from Brazil and gone on to become global superstars. However, it can come with it’s pitfalls, there are no guarantees that the players will adapt to European football and the climate and culture which has become a stumbling block for many talents who have made the move to sunny England.
The post Leicester City Summer Transfer Strategy Revealed first appeared on The Deck.
Ryan Whelan Read More At Look Sports Media

Since coming over as manager, Arteta has been gradually rebuilding Arsenal. Even though the team won the FA Cup in the 2019–2020 season, he would get more credibility and confidence if the team consistently performed well in important competitions. Another FA Cup victory may confirm that his project at Arsenal is headed in the right direction and enhance his standing as a bright young manager. Which top Premier League manager needs to win FA Cup most The FA Cup is back this weekend (watch games live on ESPN+), and for the Premier League teams that are in it, it raises the issue of which manager is most focused on winning the tournament? The third round of the competition, which appears to be one of the most competitive Premier Leagues in recent memory, opens to all 20 elite teams. The fact that the top five clubs are separated by just six points emphasizes the continuing debate about the importance of the oldest domestic cup tournament in the world to its players. Some managers want to reward their players more, while others want to give key players a little more time off. Some, though, might need an FA Cup win to maintain their jobs. ESPN looks at the conundrum that eight of the top CEOs are dealing with this weekend. #SmartWorldNews #FACup #FACupinthe2019–2020 Read More: https://lnkd.in/gN5Mm96g
