AI promises to reinvigorate the way we design and build, but how we realize that potential is still an open question. By answering a series of prompts, leaders in this rapidly evolving field take stock of where we stand, what the limits are, and where we’re bound to grow. Welcome to The Prompt.

Look, I love Figma. It's the top dog as far as I am concerned. But I've been following the controversy about Adobe's new Terms of Service. It seems like they are using the work of their customers to train the very AI tools that are going to replace them eventually. And then I ask myself, what dataset is Figma using to train their AI tools?

Waking up to an email from #Figma announcing that they will start learning design concepts and patterns from me, without compensating me, makes me feel exploited. We should stand against this. We should not dig our own graves or stay silent while companies profit from our years of study, college degrees, and work experience.

AI tools like these are incredibly helpful, but only for those who know how to ask the right questions. At the moment, people haven't fully mastered the art of communicating effectively with neural networks. I believe we should focus more on educating people on how to interact with AI rather than just on training and creating these neural networks.

Having data sharing for AI modeling on by default is not a good idea.

I need AI for the flip-side of the coin of Figma tasks, not for help with my 'creative block'. I have a good dog walk to circumnavigate that problem. I would like AI to help make my production tasks easier and quicker. For e.g. AI makes various sizes of buttons based on my button design or tests for colour contrast and makes recommendations which I can accept or change. I need AI there to help me in production not in creative. Thanks Figgy

What're you doing in Figma, prompting or designing? "Better be ... [THE BLANK IS YOURS] But, is this what the greater community of designers are seeking or better/more intuitive design software? Improve, not take over! Dear Figma, kindly observe the fate of your almost-parent and take a lesson. Can we just be without bowing to pressure? AI can never produce anything original, period! Why do we prefer deception when the day has light?

UX Pastel Team loves using Figma; it's the best out there! AI is significantly impacting design by enhancing efficiency and undertaking all your tedious tasks like riffing on & rewriting text, automatically wiring up prototypes, & renaming layers.

Stop with the AI! It's unnecessary, not as good as a designer, and you're breaching data if you're using us as a dataset. Not to mention the environmental damage AI causes. Stop. That.

The idea of actual human interaction with a bot does make a difference between good and great. The AI yield will always be good enough, JUST to get a job done. And that too with the right prompt and understanding. My Roman empire these days in terms of AI takeover is the Emotional Quotient that a human possesses and how underrated that is along with any hardcore skill they carry.

I designed an E-Payment App 📱 in Figma 🚀 using shape tools, prototyping, and plugins, and also designed debit and credit cards 💳.
