🚨 Safety First: A Culture We Need to Nurture 🚨 A recent heart-wrenching incident 120 km from our city – the capsizing of a boat ⛴ in Harni Lake near Vadodara, claiming precious lives – brings into sharp focus a pervasive issue: the often overlooked aspect of safety in our daily lives. In India, be it on the roads 🛣 or within the walls of industries 🏭, the narrative of safety is tinged with tales of neglect. From individuals not wearing helmets ⛑ or seatbelts to the lack of safety shoes in factories, or even driving on the wrong side of the road, the examples are many and the consequences, dire. But it's not just about individual negligence. Often, it's systemic – a compromise in organizational safety protocols or pressure on officials to bend rules, sometimes for unfeasible projects. This culture of cutting corners, of prioritizing speed or cost over safety, needs a seismic shift. As a society, how do we pivot towards a mindset where safety isn't just a checklist, but a fundamental value? It starts with each one of us. It begins with not just adhering to safety norms ourselves but also encouraging those around us to do the same. It's about building a culture where safety is the priority, not an afterthought. In our rush towards progress and efficiency, let's not forget that the true measure of a society's success is how it protects its most vulnerable. Inauguration of first ‘Lean Assembly Line’ at ‘TeraSpin’ plant    Recently, Mr Anuj Bhagwati, Head of the A.T.E. Group, inaugurated the first ‘Lean Assembly Line’ of spindle insert at the TeraSpin plant at Sari, Gujarat.    All companies in the A.T.E. Group have always aimed to produce the highest quality products in the respective domain, recognising the fact that an organisation’s strength lies in its manufacturing capabilities. We have adopted the ‘Lean manufacturing methodology’ which will help us to reduce all types of wastages in the processes.    We are happy to share the benefits that we have derived so far from the “Lean assembly line”:  ▪ Transportation has reduced by 66%   ▪ Inventory has reduced by 80%  ▪ Motion reduced by average 71%  ▪ “Pull system” is in active mode now. All required systems are now in place which will facilitate reduction of all forms of wastages/defects.  The success of “Lean” goes beyond financial metrics. This report is totally fake and fabricated. Munna : Bole toh.... Why are you saying like this? You should not blame the global brand. What's the problem? This is not investigation report, it is Health and Safety Alert. They are communicating that, if you get injured or die off accident, we have all facilities to take you to hospital. So, don't worry, work fearlessly and take risk. घुटने पे लगे चोट को हम दिल का दौरा बनाकर सबको रिपोर्ट भेजदेंगे। Circuit: Bro....The victim sustained a major injury on his right leg (Below the knee), when a bracing fell on it. Let me dive deep into the report. Description section - The weight/dimension of load - Not mentioned If it fell from 1.1 metre height, whether the victim (leg) was crushed under the bracing and slightly touched his leg? If he was under the load, how did they remove him? If the bracing was partially hit his leg, why there was so much bleeding? The moral of the description : The crane operator released the partially welded bracing, the victim without examining advised to lower the load. That is the immediate cause of fatal accident. Whole accountability/responsibility is loaded on the victim, who left his mortal body. Where were the supervisors/engineers? Why didn't they anticipate such risks? Do they know, how to identify hazards? What is the role of management? Only to transport the injured person to hospital? हद तो हो गई.... Immediate Action Taken Section में। 1. The accident has been communicated to govt officials & Tata Senior officials. 2. A cross functional team formed to investigate the accident. Are these actions ??? The above two are communications. Informing others is not an action. नाम बड़ा और दर्शन थोड़ा। Most interesting part is, kudos to the team, who decorated the PPT. इससे पता चलता है, सुरक्षा किस प्रकार चल रहा है। मजदूर का जान जाए, पर हमारे नौकरी सलामत रहे। Munna : Not only this, in order to avoid the blame, they tactfully mentioned, Safe work procedure was available for the job. धन्य हो.... Tata Steel हटाओ ना भाई, उन सेफ्टी पदधारीयों जिनको सेफ्टी के बारे में स्वल्प अथवा कम ज्ञान है। ए पुरे रिपोर्ट में कैसे दुर्घटना रोकेंगे, इसके बारे में तो लिखा ही नहीं। अब बताओ सेफ्टी के लिए करोड़ों खर्चा करना काहां का समझदारी है ? Where is correction? Where is corrective Action? Where is preventive Action? All around only manipulation and communication!!! Factory Inspector क्या किया भाई आपने ? Directorate General Factory Advice Service and Labour Institutes (DGFASLI) खाली पैसा लोगे या कुछ करोगे ?
