If you want to... - Maintain brand standards across multiple locations - Learn how to navigate tough times in your organization - Empower your workers for mutual success ...Then you need to check out the latest episode of "The Hourly Podcast" with Shideler B., a multi-unit franchisee of Crumbl Cookies, who shares a wealth of insights and strategies to achieve your goals. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eei2iQnN We really enjoyed the episode, Shideler! #Leadership #Franchisees #BusinessAdvice
As a multi-unit franchisee of Crumbl Cookies, we initially believed in giving our leaders the autonomy to manage their locations in the way they thought was best. However, we quickly learned that without consistent standards, it became nearly impossible to identify areas for improvement. This inconsistency led to a culture where it was easy to make excuses – blaming poor results on the location, the customers, or any other external factor. To fix this, we promoted one person to brand VP and tasked them with establishing a clear vision and set of values across all locations. This did require some employees to be let go because they couldn't accept our new standards or the leader we had chosen. Despite the initial pain, we've built a unified culture that holds everyone to the same high standards and empowers our team to take ownership of their success. It was painful in the beginning, but it has weeded out many of the excuses and was worth the short-term discomfort. 🤝Found this helpful? The Power of a Good Pivot: I recently went along with my kids on a field trip to La Cocina, a tortilla chip factory not far from our town. It was a great field trip - interesting information was shared, we got to try lots of free samples of their multiple chip flavours, AND we were sent home with our arms full of chip bags. But what I keep thinking about every time I enjoy one of our free bags of chips is the fact that they didn't start out making chips. The company was started by a family who had moved to Manitoba from Mexico, and were disappointed because they couldn't find a decent tortilla in the province. They decided to start making and selling their own tortillas, but business wasn't great. There just wasn't a demand for tortillas in Manitoba. So they decided to pivot. They switched their focus to tortilla chips, and business took off. Today they are a successful company, and their chips are sold across Canada and the United States. They made the right call. There's a fine line between knowing when to stick with something consistently, and when it's time to make a shift. What are some other examples of companies finding success because of making a great pivot? Are there any areas where you feel it might be time for a pivot in your own life? #manitobaleadership #leadershippivot

Interesting article of a change in the service rate, excuse me royalties, for franchisees by McDonald’s. The rate change for new franchises will tick up from 4% to 5%. This might not seem much of an increase. However, it places greater stresses on new franchisees to generate more revenue at a time of inflation, supply chain issues, competition, and of course economic uncertainty. #mcdonalds #inc #TheEntrepreneurialCPA #entrepreneurs
