A webinar for your lunch break - some work from earlier this year we were privileged to do, telling the story of Americans segregated and incarcerated during WW2. This is a great walk thru of the superb work that Densho.org has been doing, "preserving stories of the past for the generations of tomorrow." Important lessons and context for today, I think. This is why white supremacists hate Critical Race Theory: since 1965 It is useful to remember that this debate took place four months after the white supremacist conceits of the Barry Goldwater presidential campaign had gone down in flames to LBJ's renewal of the New Frontier, The final vote in the Cambridge Union pretty well reflected the final tally for LBJ v Goldwater. The problem with Critical Race Theory is that, historically, Baldwin's proposition was metaphysically apparent. Baldwin represented the LBJ side of the vote and Buckley the John Birch Society side of the vote. The John Birch Society hijacked Goldwater's Conservative brand and became the Movement Conservatives leading to January 6. True Believers like NICOLE Wallace didn't realize where the domestic existential threat to the US Constitution, Trump affirms this constantly, I began using Critical Race Theory as a credit analyst in a commercial bank here in DC after I got back from Vietnam in 1971, The thing about Critical Race Theory is that all the damage Buckley's racism has wrought on the American taxpayer is fixable, Buckley's idea of a just society is how Woodrow Wilson's Presbyterian Jim Crow bigotry is costing the tax payers in lost services, Everything about th e neoliberalism of Eisenhower's 1956 Presidential Platform opposed by Buckley's rebuttal, Critical Race Theory asks the question, How do we Fix it and Buckley's rebuttal is that it isn't broken: it's God's Will>

Sedition: My degree field is Public Policy , I served in the U. S. Navy for twenty years. What I find shocking is the misconception the General Public has about its own Government and Military. How the Public let’s media determine facts, without doing their own research or asking basic questions and just assuming that facts are one dimensional. I will give you an example, the Freedom of Speech. Most people will tell you they know the First Amendment. That they have the right to say or express themselves in anyway they so choose. That is very wrong, try yelling fire in a movie theater or bomb in an airport. Or you want to do violence as an expression in a hospital. You have rights, you also have to pay the consequences when you exercise those rights unduly. Not any one person speaks for the whole of the U.S. Military. Less than 1 percent of the population has ever served in uniform. The Military is drawn from every quarter of the U.S. population spectrum. Race, creed, ethinics, religion, economics. Our Government is composed of differing opinions that have little choice but to come together and compromise in order to move any legislation forward. Our forefathers respected that not everyone always agrees. There are mechanisms in place that keep us from being a Police State or a Dictatorship. When you, individually decide to take the law and processes of government into your own hands because you believe you know what is best despite utilizing those processes already in place. It is you that have become the enemy, the domestic terrorist that attempts to undermine the foundations of our country, and our government. People have a right to vote, without harassment they have a right to disagree. Just because someone disagree with you does not mean their point is any less valid than yours or that committing violence is the answer. Heroes are not those that reach for guns but those that maintain the open concourse of discourse. Doing the right thing is not always popular or rewarding. Benjamin Franklin, once said that to accept restrictions on freedoms for safety. Means that those willing to do so deserve neither safety or freedom. Threatening someone’s life because they oppose your opinion is Unamerican. It shows you have no clue as to how to vote, how to intelligently and peacefully advance your agenda, that you failed to learn the lessons that founded our country. Civil War, Sedition, Uprising, blatant insubordination, these are the elements that undermine our freedoms. You can make change, without treason. The U. S. Constitution is considered a living document as it can be modified for the times in which we live in. If you truly want to make a difference then vote stop whining about who did what and vote, make your voice heard before changes are decided on, before money is spent before laws are enacted that you feel are unjust.

🌏🇺🇸U.S. 55th House Speaker Kevin McCarthy as U.S. Congressman-Law Maker and Representative of the U.S.A brought the real awareness of what people needed to be aware of. Ever since McCarthy made BILLS accessible for 72 hrs-so that the American people can get educated of what’s the BILL about, as is as well, to have a chance to read the bill with anticipation before becoming a law-is when things begin to make more sense. Because “we the people”deserved to get well informed of when a bill is not a bill because it was approved into law. Once is approved, people know what to expect, because the awareness serves as an eye opening and what is to come in light of a new Rule and Law to take place between the meaning of a BILL and the approval into a LAW. That’s why all of the achievements and goals reached by McCarthy in the 9 months of tenancy makes lot of sense now-because that’s what a law maker supposed to do as a protectorate of the people. https://lnkd.in/gYvF4iB3 Kevin McCarthy identified the issue and Rosie Hamer (HRH) has the details. 5142024…

I don’t mean to be Negative Nancy, but someone has to say it. The blog I wrote reflects a critical perspective on contemporary American society and politics, framed through the principles of the Declaration of Independence. It suggests that the foundational ideals of equality, government by consent, the right to alter or abolish government, natural rights, and the indictment of tyranny are being undermined or forgotten. There, I express my disappointment in how these principles are currently interpreted and applied, particularly criticizing the influence of wealth in politics, recent Supreme Court decisions, and the behavior and policies of Donald Trump (referred to as "Orange Man"). The piece argues that modern America has strayed from its foundational values, emphasizing the importance of intellectual honesty and civic responsibilities in shaping the future of the country. @followers @highlight I’ll also plug my novel, #thelastindependenceday. If there was ever a time to read it to get one version of unchecked extremism, this would be it.

"Uncle Tom's Cabin," authored by Harriet Beecher Stowe in 1852, holds a transformative position in history. Stowe's novel spotlighted the horrors of slavery and its ethical dimensions, spurring abolitionist fervor. Through poignant characters like Uncle Tom, it humanized enslaved individuals and fueled discussions, shaping public sentiment against slavery. This profound influence on society transcended literature, fanning the flames of anti-slavery activism, contributing to the prelude of the American Civil War. While not solely responsible, the novel contributed to the ideological backdrop that intensified tensions. President Abraham Lincoln's remark on meeting Stowe illustrates its impact. The novel's legacy persists, advocating justice and equality. It remains a powerful reminder of literature's capacity to drive change, challenge prevailing norms, and promote social progress. "Uncle Tom's Cabin" resonates in modern conversations on civil rights, its themes echoing in ongoing quests for justice. Stowe's novel indelibly marked America's trajectory, catalyzing a nation's journey toward freedom and equality through its resonant narrative.
