We’re hiring a salesperson. Can you sell ketchup popsicles to women in white gloves? Ice to an Alaskan? Sand in the Desert? A comb to a bald man? If so, I want to talk to you. We’ve got some exciting things in the works at Special Sauce and we need a salesperson to join the team to help drive the action. This person will be tasked with identifying leads, doing cold outreach, and closing sales. Don’t worry, the product solves a real problem and we’ll arm you with all the product knowledge, scripts, and marketing materials to be successful, you just have to bring ferocious intensity to prospecting, outreach, and follow-up to land clients. I was an AE for a SaaS company at 23. I earn’t over £250k in 12 months. Sales was much harder then. And the value of the £ was stronger! It wasn't a career people were actively chasing. New business wasn’t the same as it is in 2024: We didn’t have automation tools. We didn’t have data enrichment. LinkedIn wasn’t what it was today, not many people were using it. Cadences didn’t exist. Marketing and sales didn’t really communicate and worked in silos. Prospecting was all manual. It wasn't sexy. Here’s how I hit my target: - Had a great relationship with my SDR, we spent a lot of time together - Was religious about calling prospects that previous sales people had worked - Built a backwards sales plan - Did high levels of activity - Built excellent realtionships with prospects - Went to see prospects in person - Always asked lots of questions, was naturally curious - Worked bloody hard... With all the great tech available to us now I'm a big believer that sales is easy if you do the basics well! #sales
