Where to start with calculating a day rate when you first start out as a freelancer? Finding the right price for me has been a bit trial and error and a lot of research. Feeling uncertain about discussing your rate with clients? 💪 Here's a checklist to help you navigate: ✅ Get Comfortable Talking About Your Rate: Don't shy away from discussing your worth. Confidence is key! 💬 It's actually weirdly one of my favourite parts but I know it's not others! ✅ Speak with other Freelancers: I've been lucky enough to find a small community of freelancer on here quite quickly who've helped start my journey 🤝 ✅ Speak to Recruiters: Reach out to recruiters for industry-standard rates. Networking is key! 🔍 If you strike up a good relationship transparency can be key in developing a partnership. However, I started working with agencies and other freelancers to understand their processes and how they work. And with every new experience, I realised how to get clients faster. Every experienced person had just 1 secret - their Cold DMs! And that does not mean you are just texting anybody “ Hi, I am XYZ and I need work.” This is the right way to cold DM to close more clients: 1/ Create a clear list of people you want to cold DM 2/ Interact with their posts so that they notice your profile 3/ Personalise a DM with proof to show how you can help them 4/ Take up to 3 follow-ups at intervals if needed but don’t be too clingy Nobody closes clients in the 1st week. You will have to hear 10s of no to hear that 1 yes that you have been desperately waiting for. So don’t give up too soon. And learn from others if you need help. But take that step, because, in the end, it will all make a difference. #personalbranding
