#Notogendertrivialisationonmattersmoralityandcorruption I want to highlight a few issues arising from this post: The Gender Card and Moral Accountability: The argument that men should be voted out because they pulled a trigger is flawed. Anyone, regardless of gender, can commit such acts, including children, depending on the circumstances.(except for cases of self defence/those in security dockets as permitted by law,it is wrong to own let alone maim/take another person's life: I Do Not Support Misuse of Power/Guns/Security apparatus) The focus should be on morality and acknowledging that the individuals mentioned in the article lack the moral integrity to represent Kenyans in any jurisdiction. This underscores the need for adherence to Chapter 6 of the constitution, which stipulates that anyone seeking office should be free from any blemish, including corruption and murder. Kenyans should really be keen on this and vote wisely in coming days...it's either the voters are too ignorant of their right to elect leaders of integrity or just lack in it and we vote in a mere representation of what is already happening in the society. Gloria Orwoba and others in the legislative branch should push for better enforcement of the law by the judiciary, ensuring that no one is above the law. Gender Balance and Representation: Gender balance and representation in office should not be trivialized or used to address issues of morality. Instead, we should focus on questions like: How are firearms issued? What criteria are used to issue a firearm license? It seems that firearms are issued based on assumptions of power, creating inequality reminiscent of "Animal Farm," where some animals are more equal than others. Elective Posts and Fair Competition: Elective posts offer a level playing field where candidates must campaign and convince voters why they are the right choice for the job. We have seen women successfully run for office, such as Governor Anne Waiguru ,H. E. Susan Kihika , and HON GLADYS WANGA, EGH among others who campaigned and won. Additionally, special seats like the women representative position are created to meet the 2/3 gender rule outlined by the constitution. However, once the threshold is met, these seats can be flipped to male or youth representatives. Gender perspectives should not be used to gain popularity on issues that should be addressed through moral and justice lenses. Refer to this story out in the public domain as done by Pulse on a former prominent persons daughter as an example of flipping the narrative that not only men can pull the trigger: https://lnkd.in/dhMrfD3h. Transformational career mentoring for women ready to break through bias barriers, shatter stereotypes, and redefine success on their terms.
Here's a sobering truth: 9 out of 10 people (yes, even women) carry biases against women. Trust me, I know it's a tough pill to swallow that…even in 2024…these prejudices still run deep (yet it’s not all that surprising). It makes sense to feel discouraged and wonder why should I even bother. It would be incredibly easy to give up and lose that fight within you. But here’s another hard truth…the journey to equality will never be easy. We must remind ourselves that this journey has gone on long before us. We are standing on the shoulders of giants. So reframe your mindset and look at it more like a relay race. The generation before us has passed the baton and now it’s our turn to rewrite the narrative. We must channel our collective strength and determination and only then can we smash stereotypes, uplift each other, and pave the way for a future where bias holds no power. Join us in rewriting history ✊ Source: https://lnkd.in/gfwv4haJ #WomensHistoryMonth #EmpowerWomen #GenderBias

As we celebrate Woman's Day today, one message that I pray finds its way into all the other focus messages that come with a day like today, is that this march was NOT ABOUT WOMEN MARCHING AGAINST MEN. This march was another of many initiatives that the society joint hands to use for the good of all oppressed people. Let us therefore ALL commit to join hands to ensure a free society that collaborates for the good of all. Free of mistrust, misunderstandings, GBV, and excluding others. #leadershipIStransformational #tshetocares #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipcoaching #consciousness

Calling ourselves feminists requires us to uphold feminist principles & ideologies. We need to be introspective to serve the communities we work with & for while contributing to the broader feminist movement. As feminists & feminist leaders, we have the responsibility to be accountable & co-create with the people we work with in ways that ensure that they are seen, heard, & elevated. Ultimately, we need to improve the lives of girls, women & gender-diverse people. We demand accountability from our governments, yet it can be uncomfortable to hold ourselves & each other accountable. As feminists, we need to do that work to create a just world. Our feminist movement, practices & politics must be rooted in ethics of accountability. #WhatGirlsWant #WhatWomenWant #FeministFuturesHIV #FeministSolidarity #GenderEquality #FeministAccountabilityFramework
