🚨 Important Update 🚨
Yesterday's UEFN updates and associated issues and crashes has thrown a curveball our way, impacting Creators on the Fortnite platform, including us. Our most successful games have unexpectedly broke down, causing a setback in the midst of crucial client pitches and brand integration efforts.
We're actively addressing what we can on our end, tirelessly working to restore normalcy. However, certain elements are beyond our control, and we're relying on Epic Games to swiftly resolve these issues.
This situation prompts important questions regarding the near future:
1️⃣ Rediscover Challenges: Will our games get another chance in Discovery, so they can regain their popularity once the technical glitches are sorted out?
2️⃣ Epic Creator Support: How does Epic plan to support all Creators - especially those heavily relying on the platform monetization - during and after such unforeseen challenges that are beyond our control?
We're navigating these challenges with optimism and dedication. Stay tuned for updates as we work through this together.🛠️🚀

Ever built a really cool map, but nobody played? 😅
The problem with UGC games is that nobody actually knows if a map will succeed before it’s published. 🙅♂️
Almost every launch is a dice-roll, or a “learning from my mistakes” process.
Also, no matter how much you test, surprises pop up once your maps go live, and being too close to your work makes it hard to see some flaws, which a player recognizes instantly. 📍
Metaready connects you with a pool of real players, ready to play your maps anytime, eliminating all your player problems.
Get diverse feedback, identify unexpected issues, and guarantee your maps are awesome before the big launch.

By iterating 10 times more frequently, your chances of success increase by 100 times. Embracing iteration allows studios to respond quickly to player feedback, identify potential issues early on, and mitigate development risks.
Fortnite is a prime example of the power of iteration. Epic Games' commitment to iteration was a major factor in the success of the Battle Royale mode. And it's not just Fortnite - Monopoly Go also went through numerous iterations before achieving success.
Prioritizing iteration as a learning mechanism is crucial for gaming studios looking to increase their chances of success. So embrace iteration and keep testing, experimenting, and refining until you find the silver bullet that propels your game to the top.

To all awaiting traction for UGC-based business, I present Exhibit D to you.
Note, I realize our console numbers are old. Those platforms have not announced their MAUs in 2-3 years, which leaves me curious why they both stopped reporting usage.
Also note, EBITDA margins for top 20 games on UEFN are 90%+. As we see TBD new monetization, Discover, and toolset improvements in UEFN, revenue will likely outpace dev cost increases through 2025.

What does the iGaming market expect from game studios?
The answer to this question is simple: games that attract players and generate revenue in casinos.
The more challenging question is how game studios meet these expectations.
Engaging players, building communities, and involving them in the game development process all ultimately contribute to the casino's profitability.
For the first time, I am officially introducing a new player in the market! Mirraculus - a game studio that is reshaping reality.
I could talk extensively about everything that happened behind the scenes before Mirraculus came to be.
Soon, you will be able to see our entire reality, but for now, I invite you to our "coming soon" page. You will find a sneak peek of our new reality in the demo.

Let us know what you think about it. Do you believe the industry is ready for reshaping?

You know, I have a suspicion that gaming as an industry is not going to get better until GaaS dies. It's too much of a magnet for investors who want to make the next Fortnite. Therefore, they only see their audience as GaaS players and won't take a risk on something else, like a BG3 or a Hi-Fi Rush. I hope I'm wrong, but I can see this as a long fatal love chase (h/t Louisa May Alcott) that's going to keep stifling gaming innovation and creation for the near future.
---
On edit May 11: I didn't expect this to blow up. I wrote this feeling surly about Tango and the other studios being slammed shut this week.
The arguments raised in the comments got me thinking, and I want to explore this further. Assuming GaaS is sticking around, how do we make it something positive for studios and for players? How do we make sure other non-GaaS games get funded and player attention? How do we stop GaaS from becoming a predatory, addictive money grab?
In short, how do we do it right?
