They rarely talk about staffing challenges b/c they have a real social impact strategy: opportuinty, stability, mobility and advocacy. 🔥 Eliminated background checks for entry-level positions. 🔥MOD partners with non-profits to help find, recruit, train & hire individuals facing barriers. Example: Talent pool for candidates who may have development and intellectual disabilities. 🔥Stability. Homeless, bridge fund campaign. One day a guy biked to work and his bike got stolen, so now there is a fund to help with one-time grants to help those in need. 🔥MOD Clear program - free legal support to have criminal records expunged. Living under a bridge, now he's the assistant genreal manager of one of our stores. 🔥Mobility. Helps employees with educational support, via college degrees (partnering with other programs to help them be successful). 🔥Advocacy. Working via the Workforce & Justice Alliance Program, MOD helps to eliminate barriers to those who have justice issues. Robert Notte says he joined the brand about 6 years ago. Five years ago, I joined WLDD as an Operations Manager when we were just a tiny team of 7. Today, we’re a strong family of 200, and what a ride it’s been! Coming from a computer science background, I never imagined I’d wear so many hats. From diving into social media marketing and mastering people management, to learning finance, analytics, and process building from scratch—you name it, I’ve probably done it! Each new challenge was a chance to grow, even when it felt like I was riding a roller coaster. There were moments when I lost my confidence, but WLDD has this magical way of helping you find it again. The best part? Every idea here gets a chance to shine. For someone like me, who used to struggle with speaking up, this has been a game-changer. It’s a place where every voice is heard, and that’s something truly special. Today, I’m proud to be the COO of WLDD, and I’ve come to embrace being a jack of most trades—because I’ve mastered quite a few along the way! I’m incredibly proud to have helped create an environment where everyone feels respected and valued. This journey has been full of ups and downs, but it’s made me who I am today.
