We take recognition at BI Worldwide seriously. As you can see from Cile Lucas's inspiring post from her experience! We don't have a one size fits all approach...personalization matters. From one person to the next and one company to the next. #biworldwide #yourculture #yourgoals #yourstrategy #yourresults
In Minneapolis this week with part of the HPE Recognition Team at BI Worldwide Headquarters to talk about recognition strategy. The theme for our session is "let's go crazy" , inspiring us to think drastically different about how to shift the recognition program to further drive and enhance culture, high performance, engagement, tech talent, and retention...all through inspiration and meaningful moments. And what awesome personalized gifts we received. My eyebrows are on point in my personalized pop-culture portrait! Thank you, Kathy Gunn, for being such a great hostess and pulling together such an inspiring agenda for our session. Maria Detling, CMP

Many years ago, I found myself in a room full of men twice my age where I was presenting ideas and solutions that if effective would have brought success to a company that I fundamentally didn’t agree with. I was a young woman trying to make my way in the world, champing at the bit to contribute and make a noticeable impact, when it hit me - my values did not align with the company values, I did not believe in the vision, and because of that, I was never going to succeed (or feel fulfilled) no matter how hard I worked. That's when I made a pact with myself to find a company that aligned with my values and where I could commit to the vision. And I found Argus. Now, as CEO, I look for that alignment. It’s the secret sauce for bringing people together who are excited and fulfilled and are also fully committed to magnifying Argus’ impact. Here’s what alignment looks like to me: 🤝 When we’re in alignment, we can disagree intensely, but our debate is fruitful. The conversation provides clarity, not resentment. The tension sparks ideas, not fires. 💸 When we’re in alignment, everyone understands when we pass on an opportunity that financially seems great but would betray our company values. 💡 When we’re in alignment, people bring me ideas that aren’t on my radar, are not part of my plan (often even mess up my plans!), but so clearly support or even catapult us toward the vision that I have to say, “let’s do it.” So evaluate who you are and what you want: to innovate, save the climate, or just save enough money to travel more. It’s completely up to you. Then find a place where your values align with the company’s values and vision. You don’t have to agree with every decision all the time (in fact, I’d advise you don’t), but from my experience you’ll find much more fulfillment in your own growth and successes when your work and your values align. #alignmentmatters #findyourplace #workthatmatters

When it comes to showing recognition for the good work people do, bigger isn't always better. Sure, accolades and awards can be great. But have you ever had someone tell you how grateful they are for you? No spot lights. No LinkedIn post. No blasting it on the company email chain. Just one-on-one, Telling someone how special they are. Now that's something people never forget. You see, Many managers think showing recognition has to be this big public occasion. They'll go through all the trouble to show recognition, But won't take the little step to thank someone privately. Here's a groundbreaking thought ... do both! Do the big stuff sure, But remember it's the private stuff that feels really meaningful. Some great ways to better show appreciation to your team: https://buff.ly/4bHvMKq.

The galas, It was quite an eventful night. I had the moment to catch up with people on meaningful convos. It was also a time to showcase one's aesthetic moves on the dance floor. 🕺💃 I had dart game challenge with a colleague [a fellow soldier in the field in another city]. The major highlight of the night for me was the presentation of awards, while it may seem like a night of fun and entertainment, there's actually a lot of value in gala night hosted by companies. I gained the following insights: 🤳Awarding your staff is an important way to show them that their efforts are valued and appreciated. It's also a great way to motivate them to continue performing at their best. 🤳When employees feel recognized and rewarded for their hard work, they're more likely to feel invested in the company's success and motivated to do their best. 🤳It also help create a positive work culture, where employees feel encouraged and supported. And, of course, the recognition can go a long way towards making your employees feel good about themselves and their contributions. And these can lead to better collaboration, increased productivity, and a stronger sense of teamwork. You need to see the moments I captured below. 😁 Dear Chemical and Allied Products Plc My Kindest Regards for the opportunity. 🙏🏽

Take some time to celebrate your team's wins today. The big wins, the small wins, and the good efforts that came up short. You don't have to make it a big event, but you can if you want. Sometimes just publicly thanking someone or highlighting some good news during a meeting is enough. Celebrating your team's wins does more than just create a feel good moment... - Provides an opportunity to publicly reinforce positive behaviors. - Shows your team that they and their efforts are seen and valued. - Generates momentum and creates a sense of efficacy and optimism. Routinely celebrating wins can form a cultural touchstone in your organization that drives performance and a sense of belonging. How do you celebrate the wins in your organization?

Create a culture of appreciation in your team with ... Appreciation Trophies 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 Here are the rules: ✅ Anyone can gift a trophy to someone you appreciate for the smallest things (like holding the door open for you, being a really good listener in a conversation, or bringing a coffee to your desk, etc). ✅ When you receive a trophy, take a deep breath and acknowledge the feeling of being appreciated. ✅ Then you get to gift it to the next person until everyone has received a trophy. Let me know if you try it 🙂 + + + + + Follow me for more inspiration on "melting" the ice in groups and creating a culture of authenticity, trust and belonging ❤️
