As a parent, there are moments that fill your heart with pride and a touch of nostalgia. Today, I experienced one of those moments when I saw my son Jake Childers pop up on my LinkedIn feed, celebrating their internship Blue Trust.
Watching them grow, learn, and now step into the professional world is incredibly rewarding. It feels like just yesterday they were taking their first steps, and now they’re making strides in their career.
This journey has been filled with countless lessons, both for them and for me. Here are a few reflections:
1. Embrace Change: Seeing your child transition from the classroom to the workplace is a reminder that change is constant and growth is inevitable. Embrace it with open arms.
2. Celebrate Small Wins: Every accomplishment, no matter how small, is a step forward. Celebrate these moments to build confidence and momentum.
3. Mentorship Matters: Encourage them to seek mentors and also be one yourself. Sharing experiences and insights can make a significant difference in their journey.
4. Stay Curious: The world is evolving rapidly. Encourage them to stay curious and keep learning, adapting to new challenges and opportunities.
5. Support and Trust: As they embark on their career path, your support and trust in their abilities mean the world to them. Be their biggest cheerleader.
To all the parents out there witnessing similar milestones, let’s cherish these moments and continue to guide our children as they make their mark in the world. And to Jake Childers, I couldn’t be prouder of you. Here’s to many more achievements and learning experiences ahead! 🌟

Less talk, more action!
We're calling on all fee-only and fee-based financial planning-focused firms to get involved and to help bring about change.
Time is running out to be paired for dinner 2024 with qualified, motivated Black or LatinX interns.
Last year, BLX Internship Program received more than 200 intern applications. This year they are on track to surpass that.
The problem is they have nowhere near enough firms getting involved. This contradicts the No. 1 DEI challenge that we hear from financial planning and investment advisory firm owners — that they just don't know where to find diverse talent.
The BLX Internship Program solves that problem handily:
Apply to be a firm that hosts an intern next summer.
The last day to apply to get involved is December 31, 2023.

The modern economic system is a market economy, which is a capitalist economy where people, not the government--NOT THE GOVERNMENT--own most businesses. In a capitalist economy, prices allocate capital and labor between competing uses, and capital assets can be privately owned and controlled.

EXAMPLE, IF YOU NEED TO RAISE MONEY FOR ANY REASON OR MORE SO LETS SAY THE "HOMELESS" PROBLEM WHICH IS BELIEVED TO BE TIME & MONEY CONSUMING BUT IN ONE DIRECTION TOWARD THE HOMELESS.
HOWEVER CRYPTOCURRENCY CAN POSSIBLE ALLOWS AN EXPENDITURE OF CURRENCY TO BENEFIT ALL WHO USES THE CRYPTO & REGARDLESS OF HOW IT'S CONSUMED.

It was great to meet the Bloomberg and Bloomberg Philanthropies summer interns. They bring a jolt of new energy to our offices, and we look forward to having some of them join us full-time when they embark on their careers.
I'll be honest, I don't know if this is typical or not - my gut says no - but this is clearly a company that truly believes each of those people is part of the San Francisco 49ers team. They don't play on the field, but this shows these individuals that you believe their work helped the team accomplish its goals. And while I could be wrong, something tells me they do more things like this that we don't hear about.

This is a great example of inclusive organizational #leadership! While it’s not always possible to fly every FTE to every event, I applaud the 49ers for setting an example here — especially in the era of hyper-segmentation and favoritism amongst teams. Finding a way to acknowledge the contribution of all employees, whenever possible, goes a long way toward reducing silos, decreasing intra-office resentment, creating healthy workplace culture, and motivating folks to do their best work. #Superbowl#inclusion#culture#belonging
We must double down and prioritize three key areas for students to achieve financial empowerment: access to no-cost financial education for students and families; access to financial services; and access to mentors, scholarships, internships, and other career-focused connections.
In this Fortune OpEd, EVERFI Co-Founders Tom Davidson and Ray Martinez share insights into how public and private sectors can work together to support students' lifelong financial well-being.
Fewer than 3% of certified financial planning professionals are Latinx or Hispanic. Luis Rosa, the founder of Build a Better Financial Future LLC and the co-founder of the BLX Internship Program, wants to change that. BLX pairs Black and Latinx students and career changers with fee-only and fee-based financial planning firms for a paid summer internship. But so far, not enough financial firms have signed on.
“We designed the program to bridge the diversity gap in financial planning firms, smoothly connecting top-tier, diverse talent with industry leaders ready to embrace innovation,” Rosa writes. “We’re calling on all fee-only and fee-based financial planning-focused firms to get involved and to help bring about change.”

In honor of National Intern Day, this week's intern spotlight is Luca, nice work!
"Working as a financial derivatives intern has been an incredible learning experience. I've gained invaluable insights into how our firm's research and development drives innovative strategies. Crafting RFPs has honed my skills in articulating our strengths and value propositions, while focusing on AUM expansion has taught me the importance of strategic growth and client relationships in the financial industry."
