🚀 Awesome to be on a panel today at the NRA MEG conference discussing the intriguing potential for AI in restaurants! 🍽️ There’s a lot of hype around AI and a LOT to learn on how to use it to drive business value. What excites me most is the belief we’re just at the beginning of something big for restaurant marketers. Many attendees shared some experience with generative AI, but that most didn’t love the outcomes. That it may be good for ideas or idea building, but not the best for creative or nailing a brand voice. Alas, Marketing has always been about a great blend of art & science. A few takeaways that have me really intrigued: 🧠 I’m excited to leverage machine learning for more sophisticated segmentation, optimization of rewards and eventually predicting guest behaviors. Leveraging data like never before to drive personalization for the guest and value for the brand. 📈 Not new to the retail industry but not often well done in restaurants is leveraging AI for wicked smart upsell recommendations. Way beyond cart aware suggested selling but personalized recommendations at scale. 🔍 Last, I'm stoked by the opportunity to ask AI questions about our customer or sales data and receive quick insights and answers. So often as marketers we know we have the data somewhere but don’t have easy access to the insights. And being a small brand I don’t have the luxury of data analysts. This has big potential to drive more data into our decision making. Embarking on a journey from learning to leading in research, excited to unveil our latest paper! 🚀📖 Excited to announce the publication of my 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿, 'Data Analytics of Restaurants using AI', co-authored with Prof. Biju Balakrishnan Pillai, Shubhjeet Singh Kalsi, Sakshi Gawali, and Sunny Tiwari at the 2023 9th 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗜𝗖𝗦𝗖𝗖). At present, there are 4.3 million restaurants worldwide. With such a huge number of restaurants, the level of competition between them to attract interested customers will increase, thereby affecting the sales market the most. There are various similar models that focus only on customer satisfaction services, but not regarding business satisfaction services/models. Taking insights from these, this paper focuses mainly on the concept of reviews and ratings to create a model that will provide enormous options according to the expectations and needs of the business consumer/consultancy companies and help them analyze the entire restaurant market in an area. This can be a successful venture between businesses and restaurants, which will help in expanding the restaurant community according to the real-time data of a particular region/area.
