big enterprises have big challenges. no doubt about it. but the way you've framed the problem makes no sense to them. (something Paul Girgis & i are working on at OnCenter these days). for example: "we can help quadruple your open rates resulting in 500 qualified leads in 2 months, leading to $1m+ in ARR..." ...doesn't come even remotely close to speaking an executive's language. 👉 sales folk have done one another a disservice by problem-framing in way that leads to widespread dismissal of most sales messaging. but make no mistake about it - big enterprises have challenges that, for the right cost & outcome, they'd be thrilled for you to solve! this is the exciting reality - for a sales rep going to market with a product that actually solves a real problem, those "big logos" on your account list do indeed need help. the issue: my sense is that the majority of sales go-to-market language has overstated the value of what their product actually does. - "this will change the way your executive team does marketing" - "this will revolutionize the way your leaders report on KPIs" - "this will make your organization recession-proof" 😷 ...i mean, maybe. but probably not. these are mostly overstated and stinky. 🗑️ and trust me - most execs are gonna hit that trash can icon so fast they won't even remember what the product is that you sell. frame the problem realistically. because again - big enterprises need help! they are just like most companies. they have real problems that need to be solved. so don't use messaging that makes it seem like your product solves world peace. it probably (at best) improves a workflow, or is a helpful data point in a broader strategy. let's elevate & redeem the profession. #JoyInTheJourney #UseTheTime #KeepGoing
