You're simply not making it a priority and allowing other people to dictate how you spend your time. Many times when I speak with female leaders about self-care I get a response like this one: "I don't have time for self-care!" That is precisely why so many women are burning out and leaving leadership. We have to begin focusing on overall wellness of which self-care is an important part. During and after the COVID pandemic women left leadership in large numbers because of the physical, emotional, and mental lift that fell solely on their shoulders. For some women it got to the point that they had to step away for their own self-preservation. Adopting a regular self-care plan, that is individualized to your needs, will mitigate the impact of stress on you. Self-care is not a nicety it is a necessity in today's world. Remember if you don't take make time for your wellness you'll be forced to take time for your illness. I invite you to join me at the Empowered Women's Leadership Conference in Canandaigua, NY July 23-25 where you will Ignite Your Power as A High Performing Leader to Unlock Wealth In Every Area of Your Life! Leadership Elevation Strategist | Personal Brand Architect | I help women going through career transition or elevation increase their income, impact, and influence and become legacy builders | Speaker | Author
I want to address a prevalent issue that many women face in the workplace - being overqualified yet undervalued and overworked to near burnout. Despite their qualifications, skills, and dedication, women often find themselves caught in a cycle of exhaustion and feeling underappreciated. It's high time we put an end to this grind culture that only perpetuates these challenges. Leadership development thrives when we can bring our best brilliance to the table. But if we're exhausted and undervalued, we can't shine. Watch my video for more on this subject. #burnout #unveilyourbrilliance #overworking #highachievers #leadershipdevelopment

Let's start a conversation about how we can better understand and address the diverse range of responses from employees when it comes to DEI initiatives. It's only when we truly listen to and engage with ALL perspectives that we create a workplace where everyone feels valued and included💪🏽💼 #DEI #InclusionMatters #TrendingTopicTuesday

Women's leadership & confidence coach, trainer & keynote speaker. Gender equality. Best selling author of Closing the Influence Gap & host of Influence & Impact podcast. Helping women build influence & impact at work.
The Summer holidays are here and I’m tired. I know that I’m not alone. Some of us are even heading towards burnout. This time of year in particular can feel overwhelming and relentless as we navigate the work/childcare juggle. Recently I ran a group coaching session in my Women Leading membership community and at the beginning I asked people how they’re feeling in one word? Tired was the most common answer. It solidified why we offer monthly wellbeing sessions for members. These are where you can learn the tools to help you feel less stressed, more resilient and less worried about work. The leadership landscape features constant challenges and changes. But I don’t want you to just survive. I believe with the right leadership tools and frameworks, it’s possible to thrive. Recent sessions have included: 👉 How to say no 👉 Leading hybrid teams 👉 Prioritising your wellbeing And here’s what’s coming up: 👉 How and when to coach your team (Mon 5 Aug 11am-12pm) 👉 Managing menopause through exercise (Mon 12 Aug 12pm-1pm) 👉 Peer support call - come for advice or even just a fresh perspective (Weds 28 Aug 1-2pm) If you’d like free access to join us for one of these sessions over the Summer, please feel free to DM me for the link. #womenleading #womenwholead #womenleaders #corporateleaders #L&D

A must read on neurodiversity and neuroinclusivity! It underscores the need for a neuroinclusive organization that goes beyond hiring programs, requiring a fundamental shift in how work and teaming are perceived. The key takeaways for me include the rising awareness and business case for neurodiversity, the challenges organizations face in creating neuroinclusive workplaces, and the importance of leadership commitment, culture, and purpose. Setting examples within the leadership team can be such a powerful aide for more employees to self-disclose. We are all past the stage of acknowledging that fostering a neuroinclusive organization is an ongoing process with the potential to benefit all individuals within the workplace. Time to pace up the progress on this front!
