Manual lymphatic drainage is useful for so many bodies, especially those with Lipedema and Lymphedema! Many are unsure what Lipedema is as it doesn't have proper ICD codes to bill insurance for, yet. It is a progressive disease which affects 11% of women and is separate from Lymphedema. However, Lipedema can occur after an autoimmune condition, often progresses during perimenopause/menopause and has a genetic component too. Many don't realize their hypermobility makes them more susceptible to experiencing Lipedema's body-changing effects which affect gait, body composition, mobility and the ability to make muscles and lose excess inches as Lipedema does not reduce by diet and exercise alone. Below is a wonderful organization explaining how many elements go into Lipedema self-care and conservative management of a potentially debilitating progressive disease. Let me know if you want to know more!
We have new Lipedema treatment tools!
