🧐 Think of all the different types of voices you hear in a day: forward and bright sounds (like Fran Drescher in The Nanny), voices that have a dark and warm sound (like famed chef Julia Child), loud voices, soft voices… we could go on. One of the fascinating things about the human voice is how each of our voices can be unique, though we have the same basic anatomy. So, what leads to the difference in how our voices sound? Resonance! 🌈 What your voice sounds like, or the tone of your voice, is created by resonance and the vibrations of your voice. Literally “re-sounding,” the sound waves that start at your vocal folds (aka vocal cords) are amplified by bouncing around your vocal tract before leaving your mouth. 📣 Since the vocal tract is made of soft tissue, you have lots of opportunities to modify the sound on its way out! Want to learn more about resonance and how it can help you make different vocal choices? Check out our latest blog post! https://lnkd.in/gT8Q7eyz

Is sound distortion REALLY a problem? Well yes, yes it is. Those living with a hearing impairment can find it difficult to hear in larger venues because of poor room acoustics and intrusive background noise. What often makes the situation worse? - Variations in sound quality - Noisy environments with competing sounds - Distance from the sound equipment - Insufficient sound-proofing Like most problems, there are a range of solutions.. Magnetic induction loops, infrared, radio and soundfield systems can all reduce the effect of background noise, so the transmitted sound becomes clearer and more intelligible to those who have hearing impairments.
