What benchmarks and milestones signal success to you? My 30-day milestone at CrossVue happened last week, on Wednesday, June 12. It's been a whirlwind of getting to know all the great members of our #VueCrew, hear their stories, listen to their feedback, and learn from their lived experiences. Since my 30-day milestone, I've been reflecting on all the things that I am in awe of from this incredible team from a #culture perspective. Here are just a few that stand out: 👉 2/3s to 3/4s LIVE attendance for our monthly town halls🤯, with an active chat, off-mute team shoutouts, and regular off-the-cuff Q&A at the end of each session. 👉 90% employee participation in the first week of a NEW midyear performance process 🤟, with final reviews set to complete ON-TIME! 👉 25% of employees nominated for our monthly Core Value and Innovation award, this month alone (many recognized up to 4 times 😎). ...and we've got so much planned for the rest of the year with recognition, social connection, and more! #staytuned I am so energized by this work, this team, and these numbers. Last but not least, insight #3. The one that you've all been waiting for 😉 At a recent #SXSWs session about GenZ at work, a young woman introduced herself as "1 of the four GenZ-ers in the room" before asking her question. The awkward silence that followed was telling. As business leaders, we desperately try to figure out what attracts and retains #GenZ -ers in the workplace. But instead of "othering" them, let's take a page out of the 'inclusive design thinking' book and design our organizations not only FOR but WITH the cross-generational teams we work with. Inclusive design thinking will help you drive accessibility, market expansion, innovation, user-centricity, and reduce friction. By leveraging the collective brainpower of our teams, especially #GenZ, we can create dynamic workplaces that prioritize human needs, leading to enhanced experiences and satisfaction. How do you build your off-site (i.e. strategic team retreats) to be effective? Stacey Nordwall shares her framework for a 5-day off-site, which I love. I also build into the agenda enough time for building an action plan, after the "goals and what's next" section. Let the team decide what is/isn't a priority in this next quarter/year and then map out resources/talent needed. From there, build out a detailed action plan collaboratively, keeping the overarching goal and KPI in mind. Put milestones, deadlines, and OKRs in place and make sure the entire team signs off on it and feels good about the plan moving forward. In doing that, you'll identify potential roadblocks and start to problem-solve for those before you even leave the off-site. Q: how do you structure yours? Super important!
