ICYMI: this week, one of our AMAZING youth from the most recent Youth Storyteller Project cohort, Erandi Flores-Bucio, released the first episode of her podcast, "Where Roses Grow: Rooted Reflections." A bit about the podcast: "Where Roses Grow is a podcast spotlighting the roses in Muckleshoot Land, known as Auburn, Washington. The roses seen in this project are those who in the past or presently engage with anti-racism work and community organizing in Auburn. This platform combines contemporary forms of storytelling while honoring the traditional ways of teaching by expressing lived experiences and allowing for a collective narrative to be conveyed." Erandi is a member of the collective Ireta Purhepecha in the diaspora who grew up in South King County, and is currently a student at the University of Washington. These episodes will be release bi-weekly on Monday, starting with episode 1: "Finding Sunrises," which was released 9/18. Listen in here: https://buff.ly/46EeoE3

Have you wondered, "Are younger generations less racist than older ones?" If so, you should check out the EmbraceRace podcast, which counter myths about race and kids and lay out what we know about How Kids ACTUALLY Learn About Race. https://lnkd.in/gEGw7P5G Side note: If you're a podcaster, I highly recommend you learn from the creators of Embrace Race, Melissa Giraud and Andrew Grant-Thomas (he, him). They set up their interviews really well (pre-work to help the interviewer show up as their best self), execute (clean episode), then provide tools for their listeners to reflect, engage, and take steps forward (see website) with what they've heard.
