Liveness detection comes in many shapes and forms, each form better suited to a different situation. The input data required can be separated into ‘single image liveness’ and ‘multi-frame liveness’ systems. While the first tries to detect liveness off of a single captured image, the other utilizes a sequence of frames from a video. Single Image Liveness works better on frequently accessed systems like social media logins, phone or app locks. It looks for things like the texture of the skin, the nature of the reflections in the eyes and on the skin, distortion detection and more to see if the image was captured live on the spot. Multi-frame Liveness would be better in more sensitive, higher security situations, like airport security or financial transactions. It analyzes physical movement prompted by the user, like blinking, smiling or turning, to see if it indicates natural human movement. It also often checks for facial depth during this analysis. So, depending on the nature of your business or platform, either solution could be a viable way of preventing spoofs, scams and identity fraud. #liveness #scam #identityfraud #facia
