Veronica Charlene Ruiz, PMP® volunteered at the Humane Society International of Broward County (FL) while Mark Basinger, Scott B. 🌟 Empowering Communities: Bridging the Gap Between Corporations and Non-Profits 🌟 As professionals, we often find ourselves deeply committed to fostering positive change in our communities. Today, I want to share a vision that holds immense potential for impact: the powerful collaboration between corporations and non-profit organizations. Regardless of our roles within our respective companies, we possess the ability to forge meaningful partnerships that can uplift and empower those in need. If there's a non-profit you deeply resonate with, take a moment to envision the transformative impact that could be achieved by joining forces. For me, that organization is Cradles To Crayons Inc, specifically their Philadelphia Chapter. Their dedication to providing essential resources and educational support to children in need resonates deeply, particularly in a city like Philadelphia, where over 300,000 children grapple with poverty. It's crucial to recognize that these children are not just statistics; they are the future of our community. By empowering them with the tools they need to thrive, we're investing in a brighter tomorrow for everyone. So, I urge you: if there's a cause close to your heart, don't hesitate to reach out. Forge connections between your company and the non-profit sector. Together, we can create a ripple effect of positive change that reverberates far beyond our individual efforts. Let's work hand in hand to build a future where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Together, we can make a difference. 💫 #CommunityEmpowerment #CorporateSocialResponsibility #PartnershipsThatMatter https://lnkd.in/dw4VTbUs

In a world often overshadowed by negativity and conflict, the enduring presence of humanity and kindness shines through in countless ways. Acts of compassion and generosity remind us of our shared human connection. From community volunteers helping those in need to strangers offering a simple smile or a helping hand, these moments of kindness ripple through society, fostering hope and unity. Stories of individuals and organizations making a difference abound: neighbors supporting each other during crises, medical professionals going beyond the call of duty, and everyday heroes showing extraordinary empathy. These actions, big or small, reaffirm our belief in the goodness inherent in people. Charitable initiatives and grassroots movements further demonstrate this spirit. Whether it's providing meals to the hungry, sheltering the homeless, or advocating for social justice, these efforts illustrate a collective commitment to creating a better world. Social media also amplifies these positive stories, inspiring others to act with kindness and compassion. Despite challenges and uncertainties, humanity's capacity for kindness prevails. It is this unwavering spirit that nurtures resilience and cultivates a sense of community. Ultimately, the everyday acts of kindness we witness and partake in serve as a testament to the enduring power of empathy and compassion in our lives.

Veteran Housing Corp says that IF YOU ARE NOT PART OF A PERMANENT AND LASTING SOLUTION TO THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING CRISIS AND HOMELESSNESS, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM! THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX IS BROKEN AND NOT WORKING FOR AMERICAN TAXPAYERS Veteran Housing Corp would ask every TAXPAYER to demand and get answers from their elected and appointed government officials the below questions as they relate to any affordable, workforce, or supportive housing project in your community! 1. How much local, state, and federal funding, tax credits, or other government benefits or incentives did the project receive? 2. What is the affordability period for each project? Is the affordability period permanent and in perpetuity? 3. What guarantees exist have your local, state, and federal government officials obtained in writing that rents will not go up or that tenants will not be displaced or evicted after the "affordability period expires? Every local, state, and federal housing authority and affordable or workforce housing stakeholder should adopt the State of Vermont's "permanent affordability" policy as a model for all future government funded or subsidized housing projects or developments, no exceptions! https://lnkd.in/eFEUC8c8 Additionally, local, state and federal housing agencies should look to the Helsinki, FINLAND MODEL of ending homelessness by providing affordable housing for all 'It’s a miracle': Helsinki's radical solution to homelessness https://lnkd.in/er9HZSQU Even the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development AGREES THAT adopting FINLAND'S MODEL OF ERADICATING HOMELESSNESS may be of great value to resolving the affordable housing and homelessness crises in America https://lnkd.in/gkSZWYRU

Our CEO Megan Thomas was in Washington, DC this week for the 21st annual Foundations on the Hill, hosted by United Philanthropy Forum in partnership with Independent Sector and the Council on Foundations. As the largest annual public policy and advocacy convening designed specifically for philanthropy, we are demonstrating that when our sector advocates and speaks to Congress in a unified voice, we CAN make a lasting impact. During this week's meetings on Capitol Hill with Members of Congress, committee staff, and government officials at federal agencies, we advocated for vibrant, healthy, and equitable communities in San Diego/Imperial counties, California, and across the country. It's the start of #SmallCharityWeek 2024 🎉 Did you know that most charities registered with A Good Thing are small? In fact, most UK charities are small – around 170,000 are working hard to support the communities where we live, work, and play. We LOVE the message shared by #SmallCharityWeek champion Wayne Murray: we all need to work together to ensure small charities thrive. This week, we ask the A Good Thing (UK) business community to get involved and pledge your LOVE for the small charities in your community; 💛 Listen and learn – what small charities exist in your neighbourhood 💛 Organise – get your business involved with local small charities 💛 Volunteer – can you donate your time or the things you no longer need? 💛 Engage – get involved and support a small local charity. ▶ We have the perfect place for you to start! Check out the things small charities have told us they need all across the UK: https://bit.ly/AGT-Need Get involved! #supportlocal #engage #lovelocal #support #volunteer #smallcharityweek
It's #SmallCharityWeek! Time to support each other and get our pledge to those that can support us. Please watch, share, and celebrate. I pledge to #LoveYourSmallCharity, do you?
