It's #TopicTuesday! RF engineers are electronic engineers whose focus is in the area of Radio Frequency (RF) circuit and system development. While there are a great many sub-disciplines to be found, the common aspect of RF engineering is that we work specifically with an eye towards the realization of a product that uses radio frequency or wireless signals. #RFengineering

CONTRACTORS OF THE WEEK #10... ✨ FPGA Special ✨ For the 10th weekly post I had to pull out something special (I have to compete with all these Euros posts somehow!), as a result this week focuses specifically on 3 superb FPGA engineers I am currently working with. If you or your organisation could use any of the below contractors to support ongoing or upcoming projects, bottlenecks or deadlines see below and get in touch 👇 Contractor 1: FPGA/Asic Engineer ⚡ Contractor 2: FPGA Engineer - SDR specialist 📻 Contractor 3: FPGA Engineer with Physics background 📡 If you're not looking for any of these specific skill sets get in touch with myself or Chetan Shah as we have an extensive network of pre-referenced experts ready to support your current needs! We are also still sourcing for multiple FPGA contracts so if you have a skillset similar to those in this post drop me a message. 📞02084454577 ✉️sam@platform-recruitment.com #contract #hiring #recruitment #FPGA #electronics

🔥As an embedded systems engineer Analog-to-Digital Conversion (ADC): is a device that allows the MCU to read analog signals from sensors (Temperature sensing, Voltage monitoring, Audio processing), switches, and other sources and convert them into digital values that can be processed by the MCU. Some key concepts related to ADCs: ✔️1. Sampling rate: Frequency at which the analog input is sampled and converted to a digital value. ✔️2. Resolution: Number of bits used to represent the analog input voltage. ✔️3. Step size: Represents the change in voltage that corresponds to a change of 1 bit in the digital output. ✔️4. Quantization: Assigning a digital value to an analog input voltage. #ADC #embeddedsystems #interviews

I am hiring a Lead SoC Architect. Please see the job description below. If you or someone else who would be interested in this position, please directly contact me. JOB DESCRIPTION: SoC Architect, Automotive SerDes Description: This is a technical leadership role providing vision, technical guidance and managing a small team (over time) of chip architects and micro architects for developing the SoCs for Automotive SerDes. Job will entail (1) developing understanding of the requirements for a product capable of supporting Standards such as ASA motion Link (2) developing SoC architectural specifications (3) developing FPGA prototype architectural specifications – the prototype platform will be used to validate and evaluate end to end PHY performance of a Serializer prototype connected to a De-serializer prototype over either Coax or STP, possibly including one or more connectors (up to 4), in presence of channel loss/attenuation/reflection, noise and other impairments including cross-talk, EMI etc., (4) developing/directing development of micro architecture (including developing or directing development of the golden C models) all the digital blocks, and collaborating with the RTL, Communications Systems, Firmware, FPGA and Analog Front End (AFE) teams to make sure the implementation of the various digital blocks, the interface blocks and the digital interface to the AFE including any digital control needed for the AFE and (5) making the appropriate choice of the embedded processor/controller (including configurations and memory requirements) along with defining hardware/software partition so that e.g. the non time critical control functions including perhaps modem state machine(s), message passing, control functions, diagnostic etc. can perhaps be mapped on to the processor/controller while time critical control functions and data paths are implemented as parametrized hardware, that work under the command and control of the processor/controller etc. Candidate preferably should have hands on experience with defining the overall SoC architecture specifications, developing/directing/supervising architecture and micro architecture development, defining hardware/software partition, as well as help with development of the overall test plan, and prototype/Chip bring up and debug as appropriate. MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with 20+ years of relevant industry experience in one of the following: (1) high speed wire-line communications PHY (e.g. xDSL or G.fast or Cable Modems (DOCSIS) or (2) Gigabit/Multi-Gigabit Ethernet (1000 BASE-T or NBASE-T or 10G BASE-T) or (3) Automotive Ethernet (IEEE 1000 BASE-T1/802.3bp or 802.3ch)) SoC architectures is desired. Exposure to FPD Link and/or GMSL line of products and, commonly used PAM4 modulation based high speed SerDes is a plus, but not mandatory.

Lead Solutions Engineer at Cadence Design Systems | SoC Integration | SoC Verification | Palladium | Protium | AMBA Protocols
How is SoC verification different from IP verification? System-on-Chip (SoC) verification and Intellectual Property (IP) verification both are crucial aspects of the semiconductor design process. SoC verification involves validating the entire integrated circuit, ensuring that all the components work together as intended. It includes verifying the interactions between various IPs, interfaces, and subsystems within the SoC. On the other hand, IP verification focuses specifically on validating individual intellectual property blocks before integration into the larger SoC. This ensures that each IP block functions correctly in isolation and meets the specified requirements. In summary, SoC verification addresses the overall functionality and interactions within a chip, while IP verification focuses on validating the individual components before they are integrated into the larger system. Both are essential to ensure the reliability and performance of complex semiconductor designs. #soc #socverification #ip #asic #asicverification #asicdesign #semiconductor #semiconductors
