Watching a new government take power is always a moment to remember, but watching it while broadcasting live from a TV studio felt quite extraordinary.
On Friday I was on GB News alongside Sam Richards and Emma Alberta Webb FRSA talking about The Labour Party’s historic victory and what it means for the country.
Here’s a clip below. (Thankfully the live feed of images from Downing Street meant that my face didn’t feature much - I will admit to not having had a lot of sleep on Thursday night!)
Why did Raheel Akhtar leave the media and join the IT industry again?

hey Republic TV and Republic Bharat, can you have atleast one decent anchor who can conduct a debate without screaming, shouting and talking over their own guests ? You guys are an ideal example of how NOT to run TV debates. so unbearable and uncivilized.

Watching my AACVPR friend & colleague kill it on l live TV is cool enough and thinking about what she said is truly thought provoking....
My mind goes to the ongoing discussion about bricks and mortar vs. Virtual Cardiac Rehab. Those of us who live in this space have vigorous debates discussing which is better, what is the role of each delivery method, and will virtual replace facility-based Cardiac Rehab?
As a Medical Director I have found that nothing ever replaces human contact - especially in the healing realm. This is Species Level software. It's just who we are. With that said any contact is better than no contact at all. A birthday phone call is better than silence. Sending a card is better than doing nothing. The best is coming in person with a card.
Virtual Cardiac Rehab is a tool, like any other. For some patients this will be a great option, possibly their only option. Others need in-person visits to feel safe and learn effectively. (CR is more than exercise) Many people will benefit from combining the two in a hybrid option that is built around the needs of each individual patient - not healthcare systems, payors and companies.
Individualized patient care? "That's so hard to accomplish, that takes so much time."
Welcome to the Human Race...Surprise! It's a marathon not a sprint and you've been training for this your entire career. Giving up is not an option because our patients are depending on US to figure it out out so they can live their best lives.
Guessing there are some strong opinions out there - all of them valid, all of them welcome!

Although being on live national television certainly isn’t my comfort zone, I feel it is important to utilize my expertise to disseminate evidence-based information that could help others. Last night I provided commentary on the loneliness epidemic on The Daily Report with John Dickerson on CBS News. You can watch the segment here: https://lnkd.in/dkuAYVZA
