“Grain” of the Year: Buckwheat You've had buckwheat if you’ve ever slurped soba noodles or eaten kasha. Now this pseudo-grain (it’s a seed, really) is turning up in snack foods on grocery shelves and on restaurant menus. There’s a lot to love about it: Buckwheat is gluten-free, decent on the protein and fiber front, and cooks up faster than white rice. Sundried Tomato Hummus 5 min | 2 cups | 0.47 CA/0.40 US per serving 1 can (14 oz/398 ml) chickpeas, drained and rinsed ⅓ cup sundried tomatoes packed in oil, drained 3 tbsp each olive oil 3 tbsp Epicure Sun-Kissed Tomato Dip Mix or Epicure Bruschetta Seasoning 2 tbsp each lemon juice, tahini, and water In food processor, add chickpeas, tomatoes, olive oil, dip mix, lemon juice, tahini, and water. Blend on high until smooth, about 1–2 min, scraping down the sides as necessary. 1. If you have time, let stand 10 min before serving. This allows time for the mix to hydrate and for the flavours to blend. 2. Serve with pita wedges or sliced veggies, or spread on sandwiches and tortillas. 3. Recipe Tip: Swap olive oil for reserved chickpea liquid (aka “aquafaba”) if you fancy a lighter tasting hummus. I had Plantagusto Group Ltd. Oy deli beef roast for lunch and now a steak filet for dinner! There is nothing stopping people now from having better food experiences with plant-based meat. All the negative talk and news about how this is just a "fad" or is going away, is simply a load of SH*T. Not only is this an amazing dish that could be served at any top restaurant, but this is super healthy with no saturated fat, no sugar, and extremely low in carbs. Since I converted to plant-based 5 years ago, I have lost more than 33 lbs (15 KGs) doing nothing but eating good food made with Plantagusto meats.
