Are your teams "Quiet quitting" or coffee badging? These are two of the latest phrases to be coined for the challenges being faced by employers struggling to manage their teams in the modern world of work. "Quiet quitting" is doing the bare minimum to keep a job and "coffee badging" is clocking in at work, having a coffee and leaving just to comply with attendance requirements. They are particularly problematic when there is a tension between bosses and staff, who have previously enjoyed the autonomy and flexibility of working from home and hybrid working, now being reduced or removed. How are you keeping your teams engaged? #coffeebadging #quietquitting #hybridworking

#quietquitting This term refers to a situation where an employee disengages from their job and organization without overtly expressing their dissatisfaction or intention to leave and gradually reduce their effort and commitment, all while remaining physically present at the job. This type of quitting often involves reduced enthusiasm, decreased productivity, and minimal interaction with colleagues or superiors. This phenomenon can be detrimental to both the individual and the organization, as it impacts productivity, employee morale, and overall team performance. Employers can take several steps to minimize quiet quitting. This includes promoting open communication, providing regular feedback, setting clear expectations, recognizing achievements, offering growth opportunities, and ensuring a positive work environment that values employee well-being. #worklifebalance #quietquitting #effectiveleadership #ethicalleadership #organisationaldevelopment #employeesatisfaction
