Yesterday, October 1st, was #InternationalCoffeeDay! ☕✨
Coffee, along with water and tea, is among the most consumed beverages in the world. Coffee is also one of the world’s most traded commodities, with production in over 70 countries! 🗺
At ProFound, we like to honour this wonderful beverage, not only for being one of our favorite drinks, but also for being a prominent part of our work 🤓. We have extensive experience with a variety of coffee initiatives and programmes, always advocating for #Sustainability (in current terms regenerative practices) and #ValuePropositions that benefit everyone in the chain, not in the least the producing communities (by telling their stories and showcasing traceability). 🌱
Here are some examples of our work on coffee:
☑️We collaborated with CBI - Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries from 2015 to 2022 in doing market research and digital training concerning the European coffee market. In these surveys and trainings we highlight requirements, demand, trends, and prospects for developing country SME producers and exporters.
☑️In 2020-2021, we were team leader for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH project “Cluster support for the agricultural and food industries in Ethiopia”. This included support to 10 coffee companies regarding compliance and preparing for EU markets, with a study tour to the World of Coffee that took place in Milan, and a visit to the Lavazza coffee company.
☑️This year we assisted the Blackpool Coffee company in the GOOD LIFE X programme in Sri Lanka regarding its export marketing strategy for specialty coffees, traceability/transparency, and regenerative practices.
