I am thrilled to be an Organization Development Network Board Trustee finalist, along with 5 other outstanding OD professionals! Here is my background, if you are wanting to vote. https://lnkd.in/ek7XB4ax I think this is a privileged moment to be part of the field of OD. It’s been called the largest change project in human history and I want to see the OD field grow in ways commensurate with what our society of organizations needs in this mission moment, the largest change project in human history: It involves mobilizing human change capacity at scales and speeds we have never seen. It requires the redesign of the entire material basis of our civilization. Ending the climate crises in a decade, reaching the science-based targets of net zero climate emissions by 2050, and doing so in ways that inclusively, equitably, and collaboratively creates a better world for all e.g., our UN global goals of gender and racial equality; zero hunger; quality education; health and wellbeing for all; dignified work and a nature-positive economy in the service of life; and more requires a fundamental transformation of the global economy. Moreover, failure at a planetary scale with the clock ticking--is not an option. What is the magnitude of this transformation, change opportunity, and call of our times for the field of OD? Think every industry. Think of a 90 trillion-dollar economy. Think 200 million businesses, with many of them larger than nation states. Think of the vast numbers of NGOs and public organizations aspiring to contribute to the worlds mission. Think every city. Every community. Think every professional association, school, university and more. This is an EARTHSHOT MOMENT for OD and for everyone and every organization on the planet. This link is the OD Network voting page. https://lnkd.in/eCuQPdRf Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University Champlain College Case Western Reserve University David L. "The Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award identifies and honors those who embody Robert F. Kennedy’s belief that the power of individual and collective moral courage can overcome injustice. Each year, we honor outstanding champions of social justice who stand up to oppression, even at great personal risk, in the nonviolent pursuit of human rights. Eligibility Criteria 1. Anyone can nominate a human rights defender or organization. 2. Entrants must: a) provide background information on the nominee, including biographical and personal information (e.g. age, place of birth, life story, employment history, reason for involvement in human rights work, etc); b) describe the nominee's human rights work - the main human rights issues the nominee is working on, the nominee's greatest accomplishments in advancing their human rights goals. 3. Nominators should only submit one entry each. Honorees receive a cash prize of $30,000, but what sets this awards program apart is that they also receive ongoing support for their important work from RFK Human Rights—through campaigns and mobilization, strategic litigation, training and capacity-building, and other forms of critical support for their work and movements. Submissions due by 15-Dec-23." Yesterday was Juneteenth—a reminder of the journey toward freedom and equality. So now is a great time to think about how companies can make workplaces more diverse, equitable, and inclusive. As a first-gen Latina, DEI initiatives resonate with me on a personal level. I often hear from fellow Latinx candidates that they took the call with me because they feel seen. And it goes both ways! I love reaching out to qualified, diverse candidates and even more so, speaking with clients who already have these practices in place or are eager to learn on how to do it. So here’s why it matters: 🌱 Boosting Innovation: Diverse teams bring fresh perspectives, leading to more innovative solutions. 🌱 Attracting Top Talent: A strong DEI focus makes companies more attractive to a wider range of candidates. 🌱 Improving Engagement and Retention: When employees feel valued, they’re more engaged and likely to stay. 🌱 Better Serving Diverse Markets: Reflecting the diversity of customers helps companies understand and meet their needs better. Companies, keep learning and taking action toward a more inclusive workplace. Build environments where everyone feels important and employees will be empowered to do their best work. If you need help developing DEI initiatives, feel free to reach out - I'd love to help!
